You are only allowed to group up into the Hivemind mount with the other characters you did the questline with, but there was a bug early on that allowed you to enter into others' Hivemind mounts when not having done the quest with them, or at all. Furthermore, if you want to change the set of characters who can group up into the Hivemind together, then you will need to redo the questline with that particular set of characters (it is repeatable).

So JohnGabriel's statement that it works like a 5 person mount is incorrect? And it was the data results in Xyl41's post that aren't accurate (changed after the fact), not the text.

I thought there was some weirdness and was calling out that the referred to post was ambiguous. Thanks for clarifying.

Edit: Did a bunch of web searching and it looks like the mount is nearly worthless (they've disabled it in BGs and maybe M+, it's character specific, etc) In the open world it would have use, but that seems to be about it.
