Default Hardware requirements and group setup

Hey I was wondering of what setup I need to run 25-30 accounts? I was able to run 30 WOD instances before but since graphics etc have changed I don’t know if my rig can support it anymore. My current setup is a intel 5960 x 16 thread 4,4ghz overclocked cpu and two titan x pascal and 64gb of 2800mhz memory. Also I was thinking of doing 5 resto shammies and 20 dks like malseph if I get 25 accounts or 6 resto shammies and 24 dks if I get 30 accounts with the 1 boost.

What are you aiming to do with all these accounts? Are you planning to raid, only do pvp (bad idea, could lead to a ban down the road ), ride thru crowded cities, put up shows for people to watch, or are you just going to stand stationary somewhere doing a stand still farm.. with grafics settings set to "i cant see whats going on" on my monitor? Why not just start somewhere on the pc you got already, and then see how many your rig can play, to your liking.

If you havent played with more than 1 pc before, then be prepared to have your mind blown, its a very different beast and takes time to setup.

If you really want to stick to one pc, then get the best you can afford (if i were you: amd 299wx (32 cores/64 threads), 128 gb ram etcetc, and then gives us a review

Though where i live, the cpu alone costs 3,2k us dollars. And i could buy 2 (maybe even 3!) used computers that could play 8-10 accounts on each nicely for that (any older within 4 years i7 6core/12threads, 64gb ram if possible, nvidia 1060 6gb vram or similar, 200ish gb good brand ssd, a "3x12" cm fan closed watercooler). All these games will be on settings 1, 1080p, 60 fps front, 30 fps back.

So you are paying a insane premium just to be able to play on 1 pc, if thats what you want to do. If i were you i would just figure out what you can do with your current rig, then get another one similar specc pc, or something cheaper, if thats what you lack in order to play 30 accounts. It will be a lot cheaper. But you will need to spend time to learn how to set it up.

I did the same in WoD/Legion Similar setup-- I ran 980 ti's instead. I had a big in-game performance boost by running the 5960x@4.6 over 4.4, can you push it a little harder?

    What resolution?

Yeah I can probably push it bit more, currently it’s running at 1.23 vcore at around 68c at full load. I got unopened gear from EK laying around lol that I haven’t even used for proper water cooling but haven’t been bothered taking everything out and buying a new chassi etc since I got a quite small case. I got Corsair h110i gtx currently cooling it. However, I’m a bit interested to build a new computer anyway with the new 9980xe and 2080tis for the new asus 144ghz 4K monitor and using some of the cooling parts I got to cool it and buying the additional stuff I need but I don’t know if I want to spend that much money on a computer although it would be cool not only for wow but for other games too and the compile time would greatly be reduced with the 9980xe for programming. @Wowbox40 You have a good point though a bout the 2990wx. I wonder if it has good benchmarks with wow since it’s kind of special in regards to the multi die solution. I have read that the windows scheduler has a problem optimizing all cores though sometimes and that it’s better suited to run on Linux from what I have researched. Anyway I’m gonna see if I wanna spend money on this, I’ll probably wait to Black Friday to purchase the cd keys from blizz if I want to do it. Is there a high ban risk though with multi boxing many accounts? I mean shouldn’t Malseph have a high risk of getting banned since he’s killing ppl left and right haha.

I'm going to link to one post, but I suggest reading all of the thread:

There's only a select few things you can do in WoW with such a large amount of accounts, and most of those activities are going to be negatively viewed by not only other players in the game world, but Blizzard, as well, because you're constantly disrupting the gameplay of others. If you want to spend thousands of dollars so that you can terrorize other players, then that's up to you, but I would not expect that the vast majority of people who play this game, including Blizzard, are going to look upon your actions as positive or champion you as their hero.
Do not send me a PM if what you want to talk about isn't absolutely private.

Thanks for the link! yeah after reading it seems blizzard is more aggressive when it comes to multi boxers in pvp. However I have never planned to do bugs or arenas, just world pvp and killing world bosses and stuff. I’m a bit doubtful now though if I should do this
