    Default Performance issues om i7-7700K

For a while now I've been happily boxing 5 characters in BfA. I've been consistently getting 60 FPS on my main and 30 FPS on all others, but recently my FPS is dropping below 30 FPS on my main.

    My system specs are:
    i7-7700K
    32Gb RAM
    1Gb SSD
    980TI
2x 2K Monitors (DX nothing setup)

All slaves running the lowest possible graphics and my main sitting around 5-7. Even when I drop my main graphics to the lowest I still experience horrible FPS. Windows has been reinstalled a while ago, its a nice clean copy. All drivers are up to date and only the essentials are running in the background.

I have notice my CPU usage sitting around 95%. GPU usage is around 40%.

I'm considering picking up an i7-8700K (and MB) shortly as I can't continue playing like this. Any suggestions, comments or advise?

Did you rule out a addon and/or a update/antivirusscan happening in the background? And what are the temperatures on the cpu, motherboard etc. Maybe you need to do some dustremoval / add fans. How is your router doing, make sure it isnt cooking aswell (general tip).

Oh and maybe you did some bios changes, like on the cpu, enabled power saving changes etc.

When ive had fps issues in bfa, its been tsm addon and also the tsm application, the external software

I did a Google search to compare your CPU against mine.

Your CPU is rated higher performing than my i7-4790k, and I 5 box with my main on 7 and slaves on 3. I 10 box on this occasionally as well.

I know very little about modern hardware but you should probably start looking at your addons as Wowbox suggested.

I run just about the exact same setup as far as core components, except I run 2 840 Pro SATA SSDs in RAID0. I have my background clients set to 12fps/renderscale 0.3 and I have zero issues maintaining 60-90fps out questing. It dips in Orgrimmar around the AH on saturday evenings but otherwise is stable. I'd suspect something like a bad driver or some other option that got toggled on unexpectedly. Do you have a "detail" macro that does things like toggling shadows/etc. when swapping a client out to the background?

If you do end up getting an 8700k make sure you invest in some decent watercooling for it-- overclock the hell out of it. They love to be pushed hard and they go really well.

I've resolved this by removing various addons. Without a single addon (except for ISBoxer and EMA) I'm sitting at max FPS. I enabled each one at a time and watch my FPS drop. For now I'm happy with the result but still considering a new CPU all the same.

I'm running an I7-3770k and in dire need of upgrading, but I can do 60 fps in town and 15 fps on the slaves with the slaves using a renderscale of .3 or .4 without issue even in major town hubs. I do have to have my main on 1 graphic settings though. The shadows added in this latest expansion have been killer.
