You get -
Incredible self sustaining heals.
Battle Res
Group Water Walking
Grip and AoE Grip
On top of the usual tanking things.
BM hunters are the definitive choice for DPS. It's ranged, they are mobile and they come with amazing utility.
You get a dispel on a 10 second cooldown per pet (Spirit Shock).
You can have a heroism/bloodlust if you want
Their pet heal (Spirit Mend) is insane honestly and probably needs a bit of a nerf.
You have an oh crap button if things go sour which is Aspect of the Turtle (8 seconds of practical immunity to damage)
Their interrupt is on a low CD.
Going from Single Target dps to AoE DPS is very fluid and easy and does not require a change in talent choices
Misdirect means your tank will always have aggro regardless.
The final choice is a healer, this is the one that is currently up for grabs.
Resto Druid has been the popular choice on here, Void who I play along with prefers Resto Shaman, and I prefer Mistweaver Monk.
They all bring their own flavor.
Resto Druid is technically the most mobile of the group.
Mistweaver is a mix of stationary and mobility
Resto Shaman is more stationary
My case for why Monk is amazing,
You gain the 5% increased physical damage mystic touch debuff on whatever you fighting. All BM Hunter damage is considered physical in BFA, so boom 5% more dps.
Renewing mists is equivalent to Rejuvenation, except this one lasts longer and is a Smart hot. If the target is full hp it jumps to a different target, and the best thing about it, it has a cooldown - which means you can spam the ability instead of overdoing it and blowing all of your mana.
at my ilvl which is about 338-345 on this team, I can just do that + Essence Font + refreshing jade wind, and it provides a consistent AoE heal to the entire group that feels to me stronger than the kit Resto Druid is offered. This entire rotation is completely mobile which is important.
When you actually need to heal, their single target Vivify is decent but where it shines is that it also heals anyone who has renewing mists as well for 70% of the heal. It's essentially a Chain heal but faster cast. If you combine it with Soothing Mists, it's instant cast.
My biggest gripe on this team?
They all wear different armor classes, I have 1 plate, 3x mail, and 1 leather. Gear sharing is a bit more difficult, but this is a minor concern and is mostly a cosmetic issue to me as I like my team to "look" the same. It's a powerhouse and I expect Blood DK at some point to get a nerf. BM hunter is not scaling as well as other DPS in the raiding scene so they should be ok for the future, and Mistweaver is pretty strong but shouldn't have any changes.
My fun team that I wanted to work? 1 Demon hunter tank and 4x Balance.
I was able to do a +2 key faster on this team than DK/BM x3/ Mistweaver, but DH are extremely squishy, Balance DPS is lacking especially with movement involved and due to mechanics some fights are not doable on the druid team where the latter team has no issues.
