G'afternoon Dennis,
multi-boxing comes in many forms... hardware to software and loads of combinations in between. what works best for you depends on your finances, available equipment, and play style.
personally, i'm more partial to software (i wrote keyclone for my own multiboxing purposes)... keyclone in particular.
using keyclone, you do not have to run 5 machines to get 5 wows working. keyclone will allow you to interconnect keyclones on other machines... each running/managing their own wows. (for example.. i run 5 wows across 1 desktop and 2 laptops)
some people have the hardware that can support 5 wows at once (some even have 30" screens... very nice). using commands, maximizer, and PiP (features within keyclone).. they have a single machine setup whose screen can look like this:
still others have setups like this (note the 2 wide screens turned vertical, portrait mode enabled, and horizontal maximizer split)
if you have any questions or comments, please feel free to drop me a note.
have a great night and welcome to multi-boxing
