Hunter pets ?

First time playing in 4-5 years. Out of the loop with what place pets play now for things like buffs. I'm playing a Blood DK and 4 Hunters. Would appreciate any advice on pets or links with info to read up.

if ur playing a blood dk, i'd recommend 4 spirit beasts on ur hunters and set up a keybind/macro that uses "Spirit mend" on your dk. Overpowerd heal

macro 1:

single target to tag a single mob fast (rarely used, only f.ex if you run into a rare mob and its close to dying)

/petattack
/cast cobra shot


macro 2:

single target dps

/petattack
/castsequence barbed shot, kill command, cobra shot, cobra shot, cobra shot
/cast [@pet, nodead, exists] Misdirection


macro 3:

aoe dps

/petattack
/castsequence multi-shot, barbed shot, kill command, cobra shot, multi-shot
/cast [@pet, nodead, exists] Misdirection

Then, have heal/ress on 1 other keybind:




/cast [@pet,exists,nodead] Mend Pet; Revive Pet

(heal if its alive, ress the pet if its dead).


Then, to heal while dpsing, create a new step in the keyninds, so it will use the mend pet on cooldown, for lazy healing hehe

If you have spirit pets, the nice heal is handy to have. Can even be used on other players.


On main:
/stopcasting
/cast spirit mend


on slaves:
/assist nameofmain
/stopcasting
/cast spirit mend

Blow up all / cool down macro:

/castsequence a murder of crows, Bestial wrath, aspect of the wild
/cast [@pet, nodead, exists] Misdirection

Bound to "tab".

Primal rage (heroism/bloodlust, when you have a ferocity pet).
Bound to "ctrl + tab".

Another nice one is to keybind the pets to :

1. follow you (incase you targeted a mob far away or by error, and they run for it, but you want to cancel it and bring them back)

and

2. move to (rarely used, mostly in raids, when they need to move away from aoe damage).


You find these buttons on the left side, on the pet hotbar. And in the pet spellbook.
