New graphics card for boxing.

I'm looking at the GTX 1080 or the RX Vega 64

the RX Vega 64 has 2048-bit memory interface
while the 1080 GTX has a 256-bit

My understanding is that's kind of the bandwidth of the card and I'm thinking the RX Vega would be better for a boxer.

Are there any other specs important to boxers that a normal gamer wouldn't care about?

Any input from someone who knows more would be appreciated.

yeah, but the data transfer speed over that interface on the RXvega is 1.89Gbps whereas the 1080GTX is 10Gbps.

Memory bandwidth on the Vega does work out faster at 2048 * 1.89Gbps = ~ 483GB/s
and the 1080GTX is 256 * 10Gbps = ~320GB/s
(there is some overheads and other binary math factors).

That all said. Memory Bandwidth isn't everything. You also have deliver to the card, how fast the GPU can actually do anything with the data in memory, and a bunch of other factors.

In reality, the Vega 64 was disappointing for the money for gaming purposes (it is usually priced higher, but performance is a step behind a 1080 - a 1080Ti does even better). Apparently its quite decent for mining though.

The GTX 1080 and the RX Vega 64 are practically the same, at stock, but the Vega 64 seems to be able to consistently push out a few additional frames more than the GTX 1080 at higher resolutions (perhaps due to memory bandwidth), although we're talking like 3-5%. Whether that is tangible in a multiboxing setup, I don't know, so it probably just comes down to your budget and whichever can be found cheaper when it's time to make the purchase.

Interesting. The majority of the game reviews tend to put the Vega 64 a step behind the 1080GTX, but then it does depend on resolution, at 4K the Vega does have a little edge. On the other hand, most reviews are all pushing max settings to try and report max FPS, and only a single game.

Still that is all just another one of the factors.

General conjecture, I would put the NVidia at a slightly better performer myself, BUT, I don't have one or a Vega 64, to give an actual comparison.

When it comes to benchmark reviews, I generally only look at the highest resolution (2160p now-a-days) when judging how well a GPU is going to perform since multiboxing piles on the pixels. Five-boxing at ~1920x1080 is ~25% more pixels than 3840x2160, but I understand that it's skewed simply because most people run lesser settings and lower framerates on those four background game clients, so it doesn't exactly work out that way—it's just rough napkin math.

I'm just an nVidia fan boy, so I'd buy the nVidia GPU too.

I have a GTX 1080 bought it when they 1st cam out and love it. I am running 5 accounts with no problems what so ever, I wish I would of waited a bit for the Ti but I am very happy with what I have. =)
