Default Instance Lockout Changes in BETA

I found this video and thought I'd share. The TLDR is that instance lockout limit which can be a bit of a problem sometimes when boxing has been made a little easier, assuming you have your team spread across multiple realms. If you want to farm instances for gold with your team, this is definitely worth considering.

Here's a list of connected realms if you're considering building a team or moving an existing team.

I'm going to start off by saying that I didn't watch the video (I'm busy right now), but is it the same trick that Sservis pointed out back in January?

Not exactly, the video suggests that people have been having trouble with hitting the instance cap quicker than expected because the game's been counting five characters on the same b.net as individual instances when you clear a dungeon. So. clear the instance twice with a five man team and you're at the 10 per hour limit. I have had this problem a few times, notably when boosting where I've had some awkward moments where 1 guy can enter and the other two can't because the account has hit the limit. The limit seems to have been shifted to server basis, rather than simply account basis. So, you can clear an instance ten times on one character, log into a character on another realm and clear the same instance ten more times. Or if you're a boxer, clear it with a team ten times without running into lockout issues.

well i would not trust stuff like this from a beta/ptr, Us addon devs have a few extra tools and stuff like this can just be to make us the addon devs or blizz devs a better life,

As well blizzard uses a lot of "NPC'a" for testing raids and they like to bug out a LOT! and war fronts was having problems getting into the "instance " servers. and then getting capped locked so somtimes its easyer to remove the instance lockout or up the number

I would never trust a thing like this when the client is tagged as beta/ptr.

That's interesting... I've personally never experienced a problem where I was locked out before the 10 instance limit (or 5 back in the day), and, from what I can remember, I can't say I've ever seen anyone post about such an issue on either forum (d-b or ISB). Although, again, it's interesting that you say you've experienced it multiple times.

EDIT: Actually, what ebony says is true, isn't it? Didn't they lift the instance restriction on a prior alpha/beta, or maybe even a PTR one time? I can't remember, but what she says sounds familiar now that I think about it. I'm pretty sure there was, at some time in the past, someone who had made a thread about how it had been lifted, only to find that it was just a alpha/beta/PTR thing. I don't know for sure, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I haven't had the problem a LOT, but I've run into it enough times to remember it as being vaguely annoying. For me, I think I might go ahead and do this as I'm already working the AH on several realms. But yeah, it's on the BETA, and BETA is BETA. I won't get TOO excited until probably a couple months after BFA launches.
