can someone clear something up for me?
ok so i have posted my problems about the Saitek Cyborg Command Unit.
all it did was make it so i can use keys that are already on my keyboard and map them to the buttons on that controller.
this doesnt really help me cuz its the same thing as just doubling certain buttons.. although if you wanted certain buttons in one spot that might help?
but i bought it thinking it was a whole new set of 18ish keys. is there something like that? if not what are some ideas? im soo lost in this, i guessing i could program it to do keypresses such as Shift+1 right? but then in game how do i set certain buttons to be activated on Shift+1? i am utterly lost.. if you dont understand anything i just said... please just leave a response that will help me no matter what

I didnt get a manual.. only papers in there were one saying that you need to install the drivers using the CD provided (they told me that in about 16 different languages..)
and then a paper listing all their Cyborg series prodructs.. no manual.. thats rather poor customer support if you ask me..

so i guess what im asking is if there is something out there that doesnt program the keys on my keyboard to a new controller, but something that adds entirely new keys to my system for use with wow. is that what X-Keys is? or does it do the same thing?

if you use the keybinding option in game you can assign things like "shift+1" to an action bar slot (for me thats first box of bottom left action bar), it may not be the cleverest use but it works for me

ok i understand you can do that in game. so how do i assign those specials keys to the Cyborg Command Unit?

If you are using the same command unit as I have then it's not too hard.

Firstly the software I got with my unit didn't work on vista but i got a driver from the net that let me do it. You should have installed on your pc a keymapping peice of software (will have saitek in the title). If you open this up it will show the current buttone set up - it has 6 variations as the controller can cope with that many set ups. Select one column (i picked the first) and simply click on the box for one of the command unit buttons and the press the key combo you want to attach to it - "shift+1" for example.

I have 1-11 linked to buttons 1-11. then button 12 to shift, button 13 to alt and button 14 to ctrl. Be careful as button 21 is called the shift button by saitek - but this works differently than your regular shift. you then save the profile you have changed. Every time you want to use the command unit for a game you select the profile using the toolbar icon.

It's not too hard just very badly explained by the manuals
