    Default How to test/benchmark GPU?

Hi, I've been five boxing since BC currently not really playing much or really at all but thinking about getting back into it before the next exp.

I got an opportunity to purchase a GTX 970 from one of my buddies, figured I would help him out with money a little. Not really a big deal, just figured cool I'll have a new gpu when I get around to installing it. Anyways, I kind of thought it would be a big upgrade from my 7870. But, got around to installing it last night and noticed in Dalaran single boxing everything on max it was roughly 10 to 15 fps increase.

Even though I kept all the setting identical and installed the 970 with its drivers, I got to thinking maybe their is a better easier way to test/benchmark and see how significant of an upgrade it is.

Any ideas on the best way to test it?

Well, if you're willing to keep swapping cards in and out of your system, then you can run a synthetic benchmark like Firestrike or Superposition to see how each GPU performs, and that will give you a general idea of how much of a performance difference there is between the two. Unfortunately, that doesn't always directly translate to in-game performance.
