Returning to Norrath

Hello Everyone,

Just thought I'd share this with the dual-boxing community. I had an MMO bug, and after playing a few F2P MMO's like Wildstar and Star Trek, I thought I'd revisit EQ1 since I was telling my son about it last week. Well, what start off as just running around and playing a new character, turned into a full blown return to multiboxing. Currently using ISBoxer to run 3 (and sometimes 4) characters.

Started up a new tank, and went with an SK. My group composition is as follows,

1. SK/Warrior
2. Shaman/Cleric
3. Bard/Monk
4. Enchanter

Depending on my mood, I'll swap around the tanks, DPS, and support/healing. Love me some shaman buffs so he's usually a mainstay in the group for now, while I PL the SK. Always loved a warrior as they're not mana reliant but SK's fascinated me. Love the Bard! Especially after I learned to use /melody, but sometimes I'll roll with the Monk. And you can't go wrong with an Enchanter lol.

After I get the SK leveled up I might add a 3rd swap to my 3 account, which will be a Druid or a Wiz. Completely for the purposes of porting us around the world.

Anyway, gotta say that I love how the community is; at least in my experience everyone has been very nice and welcoming. And just thought I'd give a shout out to the EQ crew on here.... yet another old schooler returning to Norrath.

The glory days! My team was WAR / CLR / ROG / BRD / ENC for a long, long time. From the earliest days in SoV to about Gates. Fond memories there. Hard to believe it's been 20 years.

LOL I know right? Isn't the first time this has happened... 2 years ago I went through this with EQ2. I was telling my son about the game as he wants to try it out. I think he'd enjoy it as he certainly likes watching it (he's 9). But, cranked up a new character, completed the tutorial, got out of the tutorial area then I thought "Hmm let me see if I have any old gear". Had a ton of melee gear so geared her up. Then I thought, "hmm this would be nice if I had some shaman buffs"; enter the 62 shaman. 20 more levels later "Hmm if I had my bard here it would reduce some of the down time".

Next thing I know, I'm re-subbing to ISBoxer/Inner Space lol.... Definitely have to say I enjoy EQ1's pacing at my older age lol.

I can't believe its been 20 years either! Lots has changed, but also lots has stayed the same. I forgot the graphically revamped some of the older zones so there was a pleasant surprise there.

Its been over week and still enjoying my time back in Norrath. It merits re-subbing all access for at least 30-60 days =) I thought it would fade after a week.. but not so much lol... I keep coming up with different 3 box combo's haha. Gotta love it.
