Default New tri-boxer :D setup help?

    Hey yall

I'm new to the consept of dual-boxing and higher , but i love the whole idea! I've been reading on the forum for some days now , trying to understand how it all works and how to get myself started with this wonderful idea
I've bought Keyclone , and have the accounts ready! All i wonder about atm is how to get it all to work togeather in the best way!
Here's my available assets to the "Job" :
    Desktop: intel quad 2.4Ghz x 4 processor , 6GB DDR2 , 2x 500gb Sata disks , 1usb 500gb wd disk, Nvidia 8600GTS display adapter , have ordered 24" screen!
    Laptop : Intel Duo 2 2ghz , 2gb ram , 120gb disk, ATI Mobility Radeon X2300 128 MB.

Anyone have a good idea to how i might set this up to work the best way ?

My idea for chars is 3x Mage or 2xmage & priest! any tips on setup on those ? Use G11 keyboard , so have alot of macro opportunities , but dont know mage too well tho :S
I hope for a positive answer , and some insight on how to become a good multiboxer!
    Cheers 8)

if your only 3 x boxing dont worry about the laptop, the pc should be more than enough to handle 3 clients and be able to enjoy it.
Mages and a priest combo has shown alot of potential in the past, getting into groups would be fine if u where using your priest as a healer, or even a dps in the other hand.
Having the laptop free would be wonderful to start while your tweaking your macros and everything able to be able to refer to text from the web rather than having to alt, tab.

    hey ! thx for answering

I guess so , i read on several posts that my comp should be good enough for ttri boxing and even more if i wanted!
yeah , nice to have the laptop to lookup stuff!

About questing & getting the carebears to get em aswell , use the share q in Quest log & macro to get care bears to accept?

I thought of fixing the screen so the one mage ( Main ) takes half bottom of the screen and the upper part split for the other 2!
Now , i read on some posts that using 3 individual copys of wow on each char is the best , true ? Would it be bad to use the usb2 disc to have one copy on?

here's a question for those who know Keyclone well , and is pro on it!
I'm not entirely sure , but keyclone passes all keystrokes to the other clients yes? so if i push 1 to = they all would get the same keystroke?
If i use 1-5 for damg spells , and 5-= for macros for certain tasks , that would do fine ?
Since i have the G11 keyboard , i can use the G buttons for macros on main to get the carebears to do stuff i guess!

there is a mod around called TwoBox Toolkit it makes things like sharing quests a breeze, because your alt's auto accept them.
And setting up those keys along 1 to = is fine and u wont have any drama at all. I find using the numpad is great for macro keys but you have a fancy keyboard so you probably wont find yourself short on available keys to use.
As for how you should split your screen im not sure, ive always liked 1 client to 1 screen, but seeing your using a massive screen how about going something like main on the left hand side and splitting your 2 alts on the right hand side, one going top and one going bottom. Maximizer in keyclone will help you set that up.

Thx for the advice on the twobox addon, really worked nicely ^^
Only tried it on dual boxing , as it was made for that mainly!
As far as mage//mage setup i'd guess that one frost & one fire would do very nice ( Fire being the insane dps , and frost with slowing abilities and dps )
When i get the new screen i'd have 2 , so could use extended desktop for the 2 carebears & the new one for the main ?

If anyone that has boxed several mages reads this , i'd be more than happy for tips & tricks on how it could be done
Thx again for the help & answers opt , Kudos to u mate

    Cheers

i would definitely run the 3 on the main machine.. and put synergy on the main machine and the laptop....
and use the laptop for thotbot/wowhead ... just mouse over, check what you need, mouse back to continue (that's my setup normally... but with 2 laptops and a desktop)
