Default Big News: World pvp back!

    http://eu.battle.net/forums/en/wow/t...87249?page=1#1

With this week’s maintenance, we’ll be applying some hotfixes intended to slow down damage in world PvP:

    • Non-tank specializations now take 40% less damage from enemy players while engaged in world PvP
    • We have reduced the PvP effectiveness of a number of trinkets and Legion Legendaries that contributed to excessive burst damage:
      • Draught of Souls now deals 70% less damage to enemy players
      • Cold Heart now deals 75% less damage to enemy players
      • Kil’Jaeden’s Burning Wish now deals 60% less damage to enemy players
      • Insignia of Ravenholdt now deals 50% less damage to enemy players
      • Pillars of Inmost Light now increase Eye of Tyr damage by 150% when attacking players (was 300%)
      • Scarlet Inquisitor’s Expurgation now increases Divine Storm damage by 3% per stack when attacking players (was 6% per stack)
      • The Dreadlord’s Deceit now increases the damage of Shuriken Storm by 6% per stack when attacking players (was 25% per stack)
      • Fiery Red Maimers now increase Maim damage by 165% when attacking players (was 500%)

Our intent with these changes is to reduce the amount of initial burst damage dealt by players in world PvP, especially when using certain legendary items or trinkets, giving the player being attacked more opportunity to react. While we want to maintain the “anything goes” nature of world PvP in Legion, we do want you to have at least some chance to retaliate, even when caught by surprise.

Hope they catch Fan of Knives on this one, if I hang around the more seedy side of wPvP (Gurubashi arena on busy server group) at the moment big part of damage taken in wPvP for me is FoK over a game session in comparison to all other abilities.

My ilvl not the best 905-930 across 8 toons they can take me to 40-30% HP in one hit. I'm sure when I've looked over the buff it can stack to 1500% increase in FoK damage, and then can be stacked with another leg.

Draught of Souls etc never really given me issues, just FoK and currently Guardian Druids (although they are now much less of a pain but still a challenge).

I've got to say things have progressively got better, although damage is too high. FoK and other boxxers seem to be the only things that actually worry me during wPvP at the moment.

Although 40% damage decrease to non-tanks is likely going to hurt me big time as I run 8x tanks. It could open up some DPS spec options but I will let others try that first!

fan of knives will get nerved slightly with the cloak nerf and the 40% damage reduction to none tanks but isnt only the cloak its the cloak/shoulder combo that did the trick .

the changes sound really good there are still some stuff like the overpowered fire mage helmet and the rogue shoulders as mentioned above.

biggest things im worried now is

    - classes like Warlocks and shadow priests that where allready hard to kill in wpvp getting a even bigger survival.

    - hybrid classes : ok damage reduction but no healing reduction

    - healers : this worries me the most seeing as pretty good geared healers where tanks allready now get a perm pain supression

atm my main team is 7 blood dks 3 restro shammies but i think i have to rethink them and try out how tanks will be vs like unholy survival

but hopefully this will only be a start of some more changes to come

How did this go? My Blood DK team very survivable but DPS means most healers are out of scope for me!

This *is* interesting for us boxers in wpvp. It pretty much swings the pendulum all the way back to non-tanks being the best when they're either backed by a healer or have their own healing mechanics.

Specifically, 40% damage reduction means non-tanks will be taking only a little more damage than a tank in wpvp, while doing perhaps two or three times the DPS. It also means healers gained not only 40% damage reduction, but they also 'gained' a 40% increase to their healing output relative to damage done.

I've had 4-5 teams on the sidelines that I refused to play on Argus because a Rogue with cloak/shoulders could bring them to ~20% in one global.
