well as i said i have no idea what i need all i know is that i want to upgrade my setup and i need to know what to put in my new computer.
what i plan to do is 10 box in wow as i actually just won the lottery for about 20.000,00$
I guess there are some motherboards that support up to 4 video cards. Not to familiar with those but did read a little bit about the 3xSLI boards which support 3 cards (either in SLI or not). Fact is the more graphics boards per motherboard, the greater chance for compatibility and stability issues, and more time you spend fine tuning your system instead of playing the game. So the more monitors, the more video cards and the more motherboads ...

You may want to do with the standard q6600 quad core, 8800 GT, 3-4 gigs RAM , and no more then 2 monitors. Try 5 boxing for a while and then if you like it, go the 1 computer per account route. since all you be doing is play WoW (I am guessing it is WoW ) you can do cheap machines with an AMD processor, or cheap intel, an 8600 nvidia GPU, and at least 1 Gig memory - should run about $500 per computer, or less.

Hmm I think you can use a DVI splitter cable to run 4 monitors per graphics cards (the split cable does not clone the display, i think windows will detect each display indipendantly). Using this method should run 8 monitors decently off of 2 8800Ultras.

If your computer explodes, please do share pictures of the fire.

    MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

In all seriousness, if you're going to invest in 8 monitors I say invest in additional computers.

Hey just wanted to give you some info I had found out a while back when I was researching something similar.

First, when ya get a MOBO that supports up to 4 video cards ya need to check on that it will let you run 4 as independent and not force you sli. (Most of the Graph Design system boards will have 4 slots but they only let you run 2x2 sli which may not help you. If you plan to run the boxed monitors on low res settings you can get your hands on some old reg PCI vid cards but the quality would be crappy.

As for a matrox multi tap, although I do not have any personal exp with them I have heard that they are great for desktop apps but when you jump into the gaming world their performance is somewhat lackluster. I have heard the same with the software types but you would need multiple boxes for those anyway.

TBH, I 100% agree with running larger monitors to fix the problem but you will need Vid Cards with the horsepower to push them and a Robust PSU *Look into modular types*

I am sorta Comp Savy so if I can help in anyway I will do my best.

*Side note* This is my first post but have been a forum follower and fan for a long time. Just wanted to say thanks to all of the members for the tips and help

Hmm.. By the looks of the pic on the site, it only has 2 PCIE slots , other 2 look like a diff card bus type
