    Default Request: Mousewheel

    Ok, I PM'ed you earlier this aft Rob, and I think you got what I was talking about (lol, even I sometimes don't understand me so if you did sweet, here's a cookie! :thumbup: )

    Anyways, I figured I would post an actual thread regarding my topic juuuust in case you lose it in the mountian of other requests I'm sure you get. More importantly... I hope others can expand on my thoughts, or even show me a new angle I hadn't thought of.

    Here goes:

    I'd like the Mousewheel Up/Down to be added as two keys which can be passed to my clones if possible.

    My aim is to be able to ingame Bind the up/down to a macro, which can then be spammed by easily scrolling up or down.

    Several reasons include:

    1. Carpal Tunnel relief. Who here wouldn't mind a slow easy scroll over hammering on a single key?
    2. Better Shot Rotation or Cast Sequence efficiency, possible DPS increases? Being able to scroll a macro will REALLY and truly be the best way to spam.
    3. Virtually eliminate many of the difficulties in multi-class synergy that scare away boxers from 'mixing it up' a little more? Simply make your best possible castsequence you can make for each individual char regardless of class, and bind it to the wheel. No more worries on getting casting times all synched up etc. When it's time to dps just start scrolling and each toon will get 100% out of their sequence. One toon getting spell pushback or something like that wont affect the others anymore in the same way they do currently with single key finger pounding.

    I myself could see possibly Up wheel for Boss shot/cast rotations, and Down for trash and questing type of usage... would be awesome.

    I hope I've articulated my thoughts well enough. Actually I hope there's already a solution to this and I just haven't found it, that one of you wizards are gonna drop in here and go "Duh, stupid nub - click this link here and do this!"

    Thanks again Keyclone Rob, yer da best ~

    I know you can bind the mousewheel in the wow keybindings, so try binding it to your desired macro button on your bar in your preferred bar mod?

    I think the point is that keyclone doesn't pass the mousewheel events to the clone windows.

    so.. are you saying you'd rather have the actual 'wheel up/down' command... and not some associated key sent to each window?

    If that was implemented, it would be best to have it as optional; I wouldn't want my mouse clicks/wheel scrolls broadcasted across my wow clients.

    Correct, Rob!

    Just make wheel up/down a key in play like all the others. I don't think it needs anything more than that. For those who don't want to use it - throw it on the DNP list the same way you'd put WASD?

    You'd have to make a clear patch note telling folks to do so... otherwise there'd be some funky camera shit going on with most people's clones ROFL =)

    Am I the only person seeing value in this one? I'm hoping it's more a fact that either nobody's popped into this thread, than I'm the only person who'd use it.

    Honestly, the value in a simple, easy, FASTER than you can possibly fingerpound (heh, fingerpound), scrollable spam macro will be apparent to everyone the 1st time they try it.

    FOR EXAMPLE:

    On my Hunter I'd toss~
    Code:
    #showtooltip Steady Shot
    /castrandom [target=focustarget,exists] Kill Command
    /castsequence reset=2/target !Auto Shot, Steady Shot
    /script UIErrorsFrame:Clear();
    That'd be spammed by easily, softly, and calmly scrolling with my mousewheel

    On my Arcane Mages ~
    I'd just castsequence 2x Arcane Blast -> 5x Scorch -> Fireballs

    As I said in op, I myself might use Up for trash setup, and down for boss sequences, etc etc.

    Possibly, able to modify+mousewheel down the road for even more lineups.

    Hope that clears it up a little better.

    Great request...

    On my tank I use the scroll wheel for abilities as well; Up for a rage dump castsequence, and Down for shield block spam. Ive missed being able to map abilities to it in my multiboxing endeavors.

    I highly approve of this request; I only use it for my camera zoom atm but that COULD come in handy later down the line and simply makes sense to have it available to pass, gives us a few extra "keys" to use

    so ... why don't i add it to the mouse-map? that way you can associate a key as you normally would... and not associating would do nothing
