Sorry I am new here (first post), I was reading through this post and one thing I noticed that no-one mentioned is that he is running his EQ client through steam. So that gave me the thought that perhaps Steam triggered an automatic flag to DBG about using third party software? But if the majority of you use Steam to boot EQ and <insert third party software> here without issue, then I suppose that should be ok.
Personally I would avoid using third party software on games booted through their client because of their strict policies.
