The Dominator RAM I have Promos based, not Micron based. Versions 1.1, 1.2, & 1.3 were made with Micron Chips, Versions 2.1 & 2.2 were with Promos Chips. This difference is the ability to achieve stable overclocks. Yeah, I can overclock the ones I have, but not nearly as much as the older versions could. I don't want to be limited to sub 1000MHz RAM. Another reason for the upgrade is breaking the 4GB barrier. I currently am using 4x1GB sticks, taking up all 4 RAM slots. I want to have 8GBs for the purpose of better multiboxing performance. I am using XP Pro 64bit instead of Vista 64bit, which does reduce the strain on RAM when multiboxing. Experiencing both Vista & XP, I have noticed that XP is the way to go for multiboxing. A 64bit OS is optimal with 4GB+ as we know, but the more RAM, the merrier.
