Unfortunately, he didn't specify what he was talking about. VR? Non-VR? DX12? All games today?
It's definitely going to be a nice GPU, I mean... it had better be since it's brand new, but I'd like to see real world gaming benchmarks to see how it fares. Normally, I will upgrade when the second half of a generation comes around, so I'll probably be upgrading when big Pascal comes out with HBM2 (hopefully).
EDIT: I actually moved these posts into their own thread.
EDIT2: There was actually a leak (supposedly) of how well the GTX1080 performs in 3DMark, and you can see that it's a little faster than a 980Ti, so real world benchmarks will give everyone a much better perspective.

Do not send me a PM if what you want to talk about isn't absolutely private.

I'm going to stick to my original plan, grab a second 980 TI when everybody starts selling theirs and the price for one secondhand drops like a stone. Should keep me in good shape at least until the 1080 TI is released.

I believe the 2x Titan X performance was for VR only due to VR functions built into the card. The drivers for the 9XX and Titan X have finally matured and I am catching up on AAA titles in my steam library. No way I am going to screw up good running drivers for new hardware right now.![]()
Quote from Engadget
"The GTX 1080 will be available for $599 on May 27, and you can also snag a special NVIDIA-designed "founders edition" for $699 (which looks like it includes a stylish new cooler). Almost as an afterthought, NVIDIA also revealed that the GTX 1070 is coming on June 10 for $379 (the founders edition will run you $449)"
interesting pricing being that the Titan was $1000, may just have to get one of these.![]()
