then what do i do on my mage i dont quite understand this macro business 8|

so i put

/castsequence [modifier:alt] drain life; reset=combat/target corruption, curse of agony, immolate, drain life, drain life

all it did was cast Corruption and thats it it stopped
A castsequence basically goes down the line, casting each spell until it reaches the end and then restarts.

Your mage's buttons should be the same.

I'll explain a quick walkthrough of the castsequence you copied
/castsequence [modifier:alt] drain life; reset=combat/target corruption, curse of agony, immolate, drain life, drain life
The [modifier:alt] drain life says that no matter what you do, if you hold alt and press that key, you will cast drain life.

/castsequence [modifier:alt] drain life; reset=combat/target corruption, curse of agony, immolate, drain life, drain life
The reset=combat/target says to restart the castsequence (i.e. go back to the start of the dot list) whenever you switch targets or enter/exit combat.

/castsequence [modifier:alt] drain life; reset=combat/target corruption, curse of agony, immolate, drain life, drain life
The corruption, curse of agony, immolate, drain life, drain life says to cast your dots on a target in this order: first cast corruption, then cast curse of agony. After that, cast immolate, then drain life the next 2 button pushes.

Now the trick is, you have to keep the same target when you push this button. If you tab between targets, it'll reset back to corruption and you'll just cast corruption on your next button push thanks to the "reset=combat/target" modifier.
