Default CPU overheating and crashing, only when multiboxing

Hey everyone, I have an issue and any ideas or advice would really help.

I have been running 5 clients off of my PC. CPU phenom II X2 560 / GPU R7 370 . I have one version running on high settings and four versions running on the lowest settings. The performance is fine, I have absolutely no slow down or lag of any kind. The problem is that my CPU gets to around 100 C and then shuts off.

It is really weird because the CPU idles at 40 C and goes to 70 C when I run any other game. It also seems to get hotter when I start an instance. The vast majority of my crashes have been in an instance. When I am just running around in the world it usually hangs around 80 ~ 85 C.

It's really weird right? My bios has a cpu thermal throttle option, but it doesn't seem to do anything. I doubt replacing the thermal paste on my CPU will do anything because it is just WoW that is acting up.

    Any ideas?

I doubt it that you are gonna get any advice when you mention that you run an illegal version/server of the game.

Your CPU is over 5 years old at this point and it's likely caked with dust and the thermal paste is all dried out. You're obviously pushing it too hard and its cooling solution is not able to keep up.

I was thinking "oh it's such an old game it should be fine" but I'll pick up some thermal paste and maybe run some of the clients on a laptop or something. Thanks for your reply.

The recent graphics upgrade definitely caused it to eat up more resources, I remember running things flawlessly on a Q6600 and a GTX8800 back in the day.

It may be an old game, but the engine has been updated and enhanced over time.
