My first thought would be because you haven't set up spacebar to broadcast since ISBoxer doesn't broadcast it by default. Variable Keystrokes are used to "globally" assign a key to a specific action, and then use that action in a Mapped Key. If you don't have a Mapped Key set up specifically to use the Variable Keystroke, then it does nothing on its own. However, this is what ISBoxer sets up by default for jumping.
