[WoW] Having trouble getting {FTL} macro to work.

One of the parts most confusing to me is I have been having trouble assigning mapped keys to their proper section/group. These groups are ambiguous to me and I'm having trouble associating some types of groups with what they're specifically made for and what they definitely can't do.

I don't know if I understand this. What do you mean by groups? Do you mean Key Maps? Action Target Groups?

Only today did I finally get a better understanding of Variable Keystrokes. I know I can create a macro action to cast Spell A, bound to Shift+1...but it will tell the game I'm hitting Shift+Alt+1 if I have Spell A bound to Shift+Alt+1 under the Variable Macros section in the upper left menu. But originally I didn't actually know which ISBoxer actions have to be assigned keys that match the same action/keybind in Wow's interface.

Normally, Variable Keystrokes are used very little in a game like WoW because we can use macros. It sounds as if you're using Variable Keystrokes to replace a Straight Key Broadcast, which is is the most basic part of ISBoxer (and any multiboxing setup, really). I don't have a good reason for why you shouldn't use Variable Keystrokes in this manner, other than it's probably going to make things more messy as you continue to add more because you'll have no way to categorize things (which is what Key Maps are used for).

If you haven't already, I'd suggest checking out my playlist for MMOs and ISBoxer. I'm guessing you know most of the basic basics, so you can probably start with part two and go from there. The descriptions of each video is filled with links to different videos and sections of the ISBoxer Wiki.

Another thing I've been searching for and cannot seem to find anything of is threads or directories where people share their profiles or their keymaps. This thread at dual-boxing.com is precisely what I wish I could find more of. Seeing several established examples of how other people configure their profiles would help me troubleshoot the trickier bits and help out tremendously, however there doesn't seem to be much profile-sharing going on.

Honestly, there isn't much compatibility between users' profiles beyond the standard Wizard setup because everyone puts their own touch on their own profiles after that, and then trying to share it with someone else usually requires a lengthy explanation on how to use it and where to find everything.

If I gave you my profile and you saw this list of Key Maps, it'd either take you hours upon hours of attempting to decode things, or take me hours upon hours to write a 3500 word essay on what to do with it.
Don't mind that the font is a bit messed up in my profile since I moved to Windows 10.

I'd like to have some actual playtime today instead of the hours of creating keymaps, fixing keymaps, and fixing fixes I spent yesterday and the day before....but it may have to wait because I'm just going to delete the abomination I currently have and start with default settings in an attempt to get on the right track here.

It can be frustrating, but like you already said, it takes trial and error since there are several ways to do things. ISBoxer is a toolkit (hence, its name), and it's up to you to figure out how to use those tools. If you have questions, then you ask for help, and hopefully someone can help you find the answer.
