    Default My Legion Teams

I'm in the process of consolidating my forces on Staghelm, it's not the ideal location. But I decided to stick with it for several reasons, but mainly because I don't want to come up with new names for the characters I play the most. I can (and will) however just transfer someone over to another server to pick up a run for mounts once in a while. Additionally, with the way I play/run the AH the server that I'm on actually works better for me overall. Anyhow, here's my teams.

This is a work in progress, but as I've recently started testing and playing around in the Alpha I'm really starting to hammer out how I want to play.

    SRS Business
This one is the team I've been running since I started boxing, but with one change. The tank, I've gone back to my old reliable. The Alpha has made me fall in love with the spec all over again. Tremble before me on it's own is enough to make me really want to run this spec for some instances...

    Death Knight (Blood)
    Warlock (Demonology)
    Mage (Arcane)
    Hunter (Beast Mastery)
    Priest (Holy)

    -------

    Easy Mode
Because sometimes you just want to be able to lol your way through content...

    Paladin (Protection)
    Hunter, Hunter, Hunter (Beast Mastery)
    Priest (Holy)

    -------

    Sword & Sorcery
    Text

    Warrior (Protection)
    Mage, Mage, Mage (Arcane)
    Priest (Holy)

    -------

    HEADING

    Demon Hunter (Vengeance)
    Warlock, Warlock, Warlock (Demonology)
    Priest (Holy)

    -------

    Beast Mode
Druids, druids, druids. This is my major farm / pvp team...

    Druid (Guardian)
    Druid, Druid, Druid (Balance)
    Druid (Restoration)

    Pork Chop Express
Jack Burton and the three storms are going to be rumbling again...

Reserved for notes from Legion and some alternate groups I'm thinking about as a result.

Hor do you run your macros on the isBoxer side?
Assuming you have put in some work on their rotations and what not?

Digging that top team aka Srs Business.
I would do one similar but I tend to prefer a disc priest or resto sham healing either a Guardian druid/Prot War

However, I think I can see the holy having a stronger AoE group heal functionality to use as needed. Maybe I am wrong.

For Legion I am trying to keep things simple. The class halls, artifact weapon leveling, etc make me think I'll want to drop some classes that I run for utility and make the teams about 3 classes at max.

Currently I am considering the following 10-box teams:

    Melee team:

8x DK (Most likely Frost, maybe one blood)
2x MW Monk. (Works well with DKs as they have similar talents on similar CDs, the AOE and on-the-move healing is good and having a group Lay on Hands is always nice)

    Ranged Team:

3x Hunters (BM looks like the way to go on Alpha, which is fine since I'll get pet tanks that way)
    4x Boomkins
    3x MW Monks

Not quite sure how I'll work on getting them leveled since I will more than likely start the expansion with 5 accounts, and work my way up to 10 again in the first year or so.

@emitchell109 I actually use Gnomesequencer for my macros. Not because of a limitation with IsBoxer, but because I keep playing around with performance settings and keymaps. When things go South, I pull an Etch A Sketch reboot on the thing and start from scratch. But my macros are safe, because they're saved outside the program and I don't have to do anything to get them back when I DO burn it all to the ground. Additionally, it means my macros are there when I'm running a character on their own, which I'm doing a lot right now, and probably will be until the Legion pre patch.

As for the SRS Business team, specifically healer. I actually run Disc right now. And the changes to the spec on Alpha are what have made me decide to go Holy. In Legion you have to DPS to heal. I like to play from tank POV, and have a distinct feeling that wouldn't work with that type of a healer. At the very least, I think it would be somewhat clunky to heal with. It does however lead me to on of my experimental teams, Healed to Death would be similar to the old 4 Eles 1 Tank. Everybody spams DPS rotations and tosses heals on the side. But that does bring it back round to the weakness of Disc VS Holy, Group healing.

@Wubsie With the trimmed down rotations I'm starting to feel the opposite actually. But I also think I'm less interested in running ten than I once was. I'd rather find another boxer and hit up a raid with them I think, and just focus on my main set(s) of characters.

However, since there are a couple of PVP boxers on my server I might pull out ten Druids on occasion and go wreck up some Horde with them once in a while.

My reasoning is not due to the possible difficulty (or lack thereof) of rotations. It's due to the focus on class specifically instanced content. Each additional class would add one more class hall that you need to work through individually. How much work each of these requires per day/week, I am not certain. So could be that it's no more than picking up and turning in quests, which wouldn't be too bad.

I do have to say that I am considering dropping down to 5 though. Would mean that I might not have to upgrade my hardware, and I doubt I would be patient enough to raid on my own, so a 2x 5-boxer environment (or similar) sounds intriquing. Additionally 5 is just easy to work with.... Then again... 10 is such a nice number.

I'm almost thinking I might just level teams of 5 the same classes.. and then mix and match them when they are all max level. Not sure that will help.. i wish i could box beta to see how it all works out.

@Wubsie - It sounds like you and I are basically on the same page, I'll explain a little more of my thought process below.

@Lyonheart - I'm actually in the process of preparing my main five accounts. As I said earlier, I'm consolidating. It's just plain easier to manage 5 accounts than 10+. That means 1 of each class per account. That's how I built my list of teams, I realized I had enough there to really experiment and find what I enjoy most. Though they all have their positives.

As for dealing with the daily "Garrison" crap, previously I'd been just logging each team individually. Which I may well continue to do, depending. I'll be talking more about my thoughts on that subject as I get more time with the Alpha, but I'm seriously considering the idea of just logging in each by class and doing their stuff that way. It also depends a great deal I'm sure on how much of an incentive there is to keep my stable of alts cycling.

I've always taken a sort of Zerg approach to gold making, and I'm confident that will continue in Legion. There's always some daily limited cooldown that's profitable, or something. Even now I'm just logging alts to get the Missions collected, making a bundle of Hexweave for bags, and doing the JC daily.

Tenatively, my plan is to focus on SRS Business and Easy Mode out of the gate. Those two groups will be hitting 110 in the first couple of weeks. I'll probably save the Demon Hunter for last, as that new hotness is going to be a mess if my previous experience is any indication (200 people in line to kill the same quest NPC is not engaging gameplay, I'll wait till the initial excitement dies down a little thank you very much).

I would love an all druid team but starfall being a targeted aoe is too much hassle for me. Sad to see how they have butchered BM hunters - mend pet with cooldown, no spamable focus generator, no pet buffs, md removal and to top it all off if haiti dies it's on a 2 min cd! Alpha feedback on them is people asking for something more like we have on live, I can only hope they see sense. Having periods where the hunter has nothing to cast is stupid. Can't say I'm a fan of Demo pets costing shards either.

I have been using GTAE spells on other classes easy enough, it allows for more control on where you want the spell to land. I will miss being able to just cast starfall and run around with the Boomies and kill tons of shit BUT, sometimes i did not like the effect, it can get you in trouble. The other changes to Balance i think are very good for us. They should be easier to maximize DPS now.
