Cleaning up Stickies on General / Newbie section

I'd like to clean up a lot of the stickies on the General / Newbie section and thus remove anything that is already on the Wiki or provide 1 thread with a comprehensive list.
Looking for what threads are no longer needed to be stickied.

Remove the Virus Alert shout thing if it's no longer a threat
Is Zin's "Multiboxing Wiki - My 5(Now 10!) boxing writeup" still relevant? We can replace that with our wiki, or add his to ours
RL Pics sticky should go in the Off-Topic forum, not General
Rename Wilbur's IRC sticky to "Dual-Boxing.com's IRC Channel"

Newbie Zone:
Beginner's Guide might need to be combined with other threads such as "Multiboxing Class Selection FAQ" or both added to "Your FAQ guide updated"
Combine "Setting upa command to work with maximizer" and "Beginning Maximizer 101"
Maybe add Ahnubis' FAQ in "The Sticky" to the wiki
Horiz Span vs Dual View - Do we not support only the former as the latter doesn't work correctly or playably? If so just unsticky it altogether, if the latter's still viable, maybe stick it in the FAQ somewhere
"Simple DB FAQ/Wiki" - Another Zin-created post that's most likely covered in our Wiki and if not we can add it and remove the extra thread Redundancy
"How to box 2-5 accounts with ONE computer" - stick it on the Wiki.

We need to make a concerted effort to move the data and then replace the stickies with links into the wiki otherwise the stickies will continue to grow instead of the wiki.

i think a supersticky needs to be added into each section, and have it refer to many sections of the wiki. People are lazy but there needs to be some responsibility to get what they want out of the community.

One link in each section with a post like the following would be the best option in my opinion. Some of the stickies in some sections aren't really even in the stickied in the proper forum.

PROS - Consolidated, easy to update, sticking one super-thread to all the forums makes it easy to propagate changes, can add an additional description to the links, using named anchors an administrator could enable HTML in their post and make index for the stickies jump to the correct subsection.
CONS - Big post, somebody would have to add the index anchors other than that I'm too biased in favor of the idea to think of other cons.

I think that we should use the sticky wiki index page (I enjoyed writing that).

The stickies are all being moved to the wiki so it makes sense to have one location that links to all the Stickies (well two with the category:Sticky)

Hold on a minute... the wiki is a distillation of the information in the Sticky threads anyway.... surely we should just promote the wiki and do away with all non forum related stickies.

We don't need a sticky index or page in the wiki because we already have an index page and if this is not doing its job then we need to rewrite it.

I think, in view of the fact that we have the wiki, we need to shift our view of how we store data and we need to make a big push to the community to make better use of the wiki.

i was starting to write a purposal for the newbie sticky forum which was going to go something like this:

Now before you go and start posting questions that have been asked heaps of times consider reading through here and if the sticky cant solve your problem then feel free to ask the community.
I will link you to the wiki, the multiboxing wiki has had many endless hours devoted to it and show it some love and read there, because its the best guide you can possibly get for your situation.

#1 Software - Which software keypassing program is best for me and whats available?
There are a couple of keypassing programs available to the community, these software programs are 100% legal and are a good way of running multiple per machine, as a bonus they also communicate with multiple machines on your LAN.
The 3 popular ones include:-
- Keyclone
- Octopus
- Auto Hot Keys

#2 Hardware - What do I need, what are my limitations and what can I do with what I have?
Fortunately, WoW is a pretty light game when it comes to needing the latest and greatest hardware. You can run two copies of WoW at acceptable framerates on a single core processor. Make sure if you are going to dual box on a single machine that you have AT LEAST a gig of ram and you take special notice to your graphics settings. No need to go crazy here - set them to the minimum first and see how playable it is for you. WoW will even run well enough on a laptop with an integrated graphics card - but don't expect to be able to dual box on a single machine this way as the video card will not be powerful enough on any laptop with a normal integrated graphics card. On a desktop system, dual cores are perfect as Windows will automatically assign each copy to a dedicated processor. Your choice of a video card is important. I highly suggest nVidia for their windows and linux support and certain features that ATI/AMD just do not offer. In short, if you have either single computers that each can run WoW on their own - OR a dual core system with at least a gig of ram, an nVidia 6 series (6600 GT, 6800, etc) video card then you have the basics of what it takes hardware wise to multibox. < QUOTE FROM XZIN>

I then realised there was as much resources on the wiki as what i thought so i stopped it there. if we start moving all the stickies and incorperating them together into 1 big post it will be a good resource for new commers and hopefully stop alot of those small stupid questions.
