    Default USAF multi-box

stumbled across this shot... thought you guys would like it.

and Xzin, they got nothing on you.... and gameslah could run his own wing of predators.

of course, gameslah would be doing it from an ez-boy... while listening to his ipod and watching vids

no wimpy helmet for us multi-boxers... we like the wind in our hair

    LOL.

They may not have anything on us, but I doubt anything we're currently using costs even 1/4th the cost of that simulator.

in the late 80s, i actually worked on a heads down simulator for the USAF. terrain following, voice commands, real-time scrolling maps, radar simulator, etc. good stuff for back then.

    hmmm... keyclone predators... hmmm...

Speaking from eight years' experience working on fighters for Uncle Sam, I'll help you revise that estimate. The cost of Xzin's current setup PLUS whatever he's wishing he had would cover about thirty minutes' worth of operating time for that simulator. Believe it or not (really off-topic here), simulators are typically leased from the company who builds the jet which is being simulated (e.g., Lockheed-Martin, Boeing, etc.) That's right. The USAF doesn't own the simulators for the jets they fly. Here's another one to boggle your mind: the F-117A Stealth Fighters flown by the USAF are leased from Lockheed. Yup. A strategic weapon is owned by a privately-held corporation. Neat, huh?!

<edit> Sorry for the "thread necromancy." I just couldn't resist.
