Speaking from eight years' experience working on fighters for Uncle Sam, I'll help you revise that estimate. The cost of Xzin's current setup PLUS whatever he's wishing he had would cover about thirty minutes' worth of operating time for that simulator. Believe it or not (really off-topic here), simulators are typically leased from the company who builds the jet which is being simulated (e.g., Lockheed-Martin, Boeing, etc.) That's right. The USAF doesn't own the simulators for the jets they fly. Here's another one to boggle your mind: the F-117A Stealth Fighters flown by the USAF are leased from Lockheed. Yup. A strategic weapon is owned by a privately-held corporation. Neat, huh?!
