Thread: Tanaan Jungle

  1. #1

    Default Tanaan Jungle

If I wanted my own group just for farming there, would a 3 man team be enough or would I be better of with 5?

I haven't been there yet and am thinking of just farming some achievments/shards now and would rather not have a 5 man grp as I don't mind skipping 5 man current dungeons.

I will be making this team human for the rep bonus.

The only thing I can think of that you'd need five for is a few of the demons that appear banished until you interrupt all five beams pointed at them, but there are a bunch with two or three beams as well, you really don't need those.

I'm not boxing there yet myself as I always like to experience new content solo/together first, but I haven't come across anything that me and my significant other can't tackle together (hunter and warrior combo) that doesn't actually require a large(r) group anyhow such as Kazzak or the Savage Whale Shark. So I'd say you'll be perfectly fine with three, particularly if they're hunters (which I suspect they might be).

Was thinking of putting a Lock or Disco Priest with the Hunters to mix it up a bit.

Sounds like a solid plan, I don't see any reason why that wouldn't work like a charm. Having one or more pets tank at range is a big plus and means most mechanics won't bother you much.

Only real thing that comes to mind atm is to be aware of what the green fel sludge does that you can find around the Throne of Kil'Jaeden: for every second you spend in there, characters (and pets) get a stacking debuff that makes you do 10% more damage, but also take 10% more damage (per stack), and 10 stacks will kill immediately. If your pets end up in there a few times, they'll become rather fragile - just something to be aware of.

Ah thanks for that will keep it in mind

Was just thinking though pets take something like 90% reduced aoe dmg so won't the debuff work a bit differently?

You may very well be right, I haven't done the math. I've simply noticed that when my pet has multiple stacks on it, it has a little more trouble tanking the elites in the area and I end up spamming Mend Pet a bit more than I otherwise would in order to keep it alive.

Oh, that sounds like a potentially fun team indeed!

I've yet to box with a Mistweaver myself, though I do quite like playing them. I've PvP'd with one a lot during MoP, a habit I'm trying to get back into atm.

As for multiboxing, this evening I pushed four more hunters through the Iron Docks intro myself, and I've been playing around Tanaan with those - together with the aforementioned warrior (though she's on her paladin for this). Been a lot of fun, and particularly lovely to get some 650 and 675 pieces for all of them, as they were only levelled fairly recently.

Really? Oh gosh, I'm genuinely sorry to hear that.

I'm the only one of us boxing, but it's been a very positive experience in our case (as well as for a good friend of ours). We're all long-time players and have had pretty much enough of guild drama, emoraging kiddies and others who'll happily treat people like dirt just because they can hide behind the pixels on their screen. And so most of the time we play together, or with the three of us. And with me multiboxing, that's opened up a lot of content that we'd otherwise need to find groups for. It's also made multiboxing easier for me as I almost always have one or two slaves in my team that can think for themselves, though don't tell them I called them that.
