Default Back after a short (2.5 yr) break

    Hi All,

I've started to play wow again after a 2.5yr break from the game, I though i'd been cured of the habit, but it's sucked me back in..

I've levelled my first group to 100 which consists of:

    Blood DK
    Aff/demo Warlock x3
    Shadow/ Disc Priest

I skipped pandaland with these toons, as i had a lvl 90 boost on all 5 accounts. the 90 - 100 levelling wasn't too bad (the full sets of heirlooms helped).

Now at 100 just upgrading the garrisons, and crating items to get them all to around 615-620 to start running dungeons.
tried running Skyreach just as they hit 100 (and failed dismally)

In the meantime however, i have started a fresh group of 5x BM Hunters, which i'm having a blast with.

they have just arrived in outland (just hit 58), looks like its time to hit the ramparts .

on their levelling travels they've completed the following Dungeons, with no issues:

    Shadowfang Keep @ 17
    Scarlet Halls @ 26
    Scarlet Monastery @ 29
    Scholomance @ 35
    Stratholme @ 46
    Blackrock Depths @ 51
    Lower Blackrock Spire @ 55

cloth and rare drops from dungeons have netted me about 5k

equipment wise they are kitted out with The Heirloom bow, and mail armour set + cloak. other items are just standard quest and drops.

    the pets they are running:

    Dog
    Bear
    Raptor
    Dragon Hawk
    Boar

this gives me the full range of buffs.

I've had lots of fun killing Alliance questing in the areas (running horde on Grim Batol EU) but getting fed up of getting ganked by lvl 100's they call in to kill me. On a couple of occasions i've logged onto my other group and hunted down the 100's and killed them repeatedly, just to prove the point. i wouldn't mind but once i've killed a character while questing i tend to leave him alone again (unless he really annoys me, or i feel he was the one who called in the 100's). I have had a couple of characters who stupidly have tried to attack one of my toons (druids, Warriors or rogues mostly), they tend to die quickly, but hey, they say wow is a learning experience..

Otherwise the questing has been ok (apart from collection quests which are still a pain sometimes) the extra XP from Heirlooms helps, and the fact that the XP levels have been nerfed to help you get through to endgame quicker.

not sure whether to instance run Outlands or to quest it, will probably look at a mixture of both with emphasis on the Dungeons.

I also have 5x Mages @80 and 4x Dk's and a Pally @62 if i feel the need to continue further..

(dont even get me started on the other B-net account with 5x wows, with 5x of each class @80 - my addiction hasn't got that deep again.. yet )

My problem had been that I liked the questing / leveling through dungeons on 1-80 more than the whole WOD addon and the endgame content.
My main group had been stuck in the garrison only doing follower missions while I enjoyed multiboxing by creating additional teams and leveling
them through the old content. That's why I haven't renewed my subscription :-)

I definitely agree about liking leveling more than sitting at the end-game, except that I don't mind the leveling all that much beyond 80.

I am currently dual-boxing BM hunters, they are 99 already and just started questing in the third zone. They are leveling too quickly, going to be at end game too soon.

BM Hunters are awesome, everything dies so fast and the buffs from all the pets are unreal too. I loved levelling from 90 to 100 but once you get to cap there feels like nothing to do. I really hate how they didn't put anything in that i can farm like hell once i got to cap, like the Skyshards last expak. I was selling Alani kills for 80-100k each not long after i hit 90 and sold 12 in total haha.

TCG mounts and buying heroic Garosh soon made me broke again though lol.

    update:

    Outlands has been finished..

ended up instance running the whole lot, as outland has turned into gank fest central.. (on Grim Batol EU)

there where more bored 100's in the zones than correct level players, turning in quests was a nightmare.

ended up doing a couple of quests, and the following instances:

    Helfire Ramparts x3
    Blood furnace x3
    Slave pens x3
    Underbog x3
    Mana tombs x3
    Sethekk Halls x3
    Aucheni Crypts x1
    Shadow labs x1

Dinged 68 turning in quests finishing off the labs..

straight onto a blimp and off to Howling Fjord..

run a couple of quests (kill only) and Utgarde Keep - just hit 69 while in the instance.

damn, BM hunters are easy mode, I had so much trouble with this instance on my previous group, but these guys rocked it (only had one death the whole instance)

It must be the in thing to do, I'm also returning after a couple years break and after talking to friends about it one is also doing the same

I'm still in the process of setting up UI and my ISBoxer setup, as yet I've not decided on a team. For me half the fun is in setting up and tweaking the UI and ISBoxer.

My experience was that once I hit MoP content and up, I could no longer run instances +2/+3 levels above me and had to spam older dungeons until I outleveled them, primarily due to the gratuitous AoE introduced in MoP and continued in later dungeons. Temple of the Jade Serpent's Sha of Doubt encounter was a prime example.
