I moved to my current IvyBridge-E system after over two years of having built my SandyBridge system with a 2600K. I really wanted to run my multiboxing accounts with higher video settings and be able to maintain good FPS, so an upgrade was necessary; but the upgrade was mainly justified because it helps me with video editing and what not.
