Default Advice for new 5 box team

    Hi guys

after reading some stuff for past day, I am ready to sink my teeth into boxing and wow again. My goals are to:

    1. PvE content (5 man heroics) and stuff I have not seen since years and when I quit I never got to see many dungeons beyond Ramparts
    2. PVP for fun and when time is really short so I cannot do a full dungeon

    Team composition and questions:

    PVE:
Which option would be best? I think 2 healing / dps would be needed for me given my casual style, low gear and having the double healing would hopefully make me more surivivable.

    1. Pally Tank, 2 DK DPS and 2 Disc Healer
    2. DK Tank, 2 DK DPS and 2 Disc Healer
    3. 1 monk tank, 2 monk dps and 2 monk healers
    4. A last option is hunters a dps - what do you guys think compared to the melee dps of DK and Monks? Is it better and easier for raids?

    PVP:
For a fun BG pvp team to annoy the hell out of people I saw old videos of 4x Frost DKs. They kept running in circles around the target and just locked him down and destroyed them. Are DKs boxes still good pvp boxes or are there other options that would also be good good in pve and pvp?

Finally, I will do the RAF so that way I can either build up a primary account with Druid to be my gathering char and collect followers and ores. Any advice on how best setup the RAF account linking to maximize the RAF benefits?

Double healing is not efficient. You will end up making fights last far longer and running 2 healers out of mana instead of 1. Use a hybrid toon somewhere in your party so you can spec swap them to double healing if needed {Cata dungeons are the only place where healing was "tough" at any point, and that was when they were current} or use toons that have a means of assisting in healing or mitigating damage while DPSing.

Would you consider 2 Disc priest as contributing to DPS or would you suggest a shadow priest and 1 disc priest and then using the shadow as Disc healing if and when needed? alternaitvely, going with 3 pure Frost DK dps and 1 disc / holy healing is an alternative or?

As I mentioned in your other thread, I have teams with 1 Disc Priest and have very few problems healing, with some smart macros. One of those teams also has Shaman, and they can support the healer if needed. Ele and Enh spec Shaman still retain decent healing spells (mostly Chain Heal and Healing Rain is all I need).

Very rarely, I take the DPS macro's off my Priest and just make it just dedicated healing, but for the most part Atonement healing is a breeze.

I partially disagree that 2 healers isn't efficient, if they are both dedicated healers then yes, but if they are passive healing through DPS I think they kind of cancel each other out. (50% heal/50% DPS for each kinda makes 1 DPS and 1 healer ~ kinda...)

Mostly, though it sounds like you are pretty close to deciding what you want to do, a lot of the final decision will come down to how you want to play. In the other thread you said you wanted range, but it sounds now like you're interested in some melee. It's just going to be picking what's going to suit your play style and what you'll be happy with.
