Best way to bring up a ew char

Haven't been boxing D3 for long and have a Barb, Monk and Witch Doctor at level 23.
Not really liking the WD so want to swap it out for a Crusader.

What is the best way bring in the Crusader?
Can I just bring him in at level 1 to the Monk and Barbs quest game, how would he then get the Balcksmith?
Or should I start from the beginning quest with the crusader at level one and bring in the level 23 Barb and Monk?

Once you unlock Adventurer mode that doesn't really matter; all vendors are always available I believe.

That said; the fastest way is to make a level 1 game (with the crusader) at the highest difficult level you can handle with your level 23, then invite your level 23 character(s), and just play normally till he catches up. It shouldn't take long. There's a thread here that discusses this; though generally from the perspective of being much higher level.
