odd issue - ESC key getting "stuck"

seems that if i use my trinket/em/cl macro in combination with mashing a purge/startattack macro the purge macro will consistently get "stuck" with the button highlighted but the spell no longer castable. This locks up my whole UI and seems to require a full game restart to fix.

Toubleshooting steps i have tried:
deleted cache, wtf (sigh), interface folders - remade macros

i am fairly convinced it has something to do with the new global cooldown code combined with general button mashing - or the macro(s), but was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this at all?

I get this on one of my secondary clients somewhat often, but not the other. The fix for me is to manually click the button with the trinket macro which unlocks the key and lets me use ESC again.

Another side effect of this problem is that you can't activate items in the game, like open up a box or click on a portal (anything with the gear icon). Instead when you right click to open, it turns your cursor into the hand icon with a blue highlight (like the cursor you get when you disenchant something).

yep that's exactly what I am talking about, except that when my UI "locks" like that even clicking the action bar slot etc, will not free it up. Only resolution I have found so far has been a full restart (logging out and back in doesn't reset it most of the time for me either... I log back in with that button still highlighted).

I am getting a similiar thing on my herbalist mage and only on my herbalist mage. I don't pop trinkets though. I am thinking it might have something to do with my remove curse macros as they seem to be "highlighted" all the time in my UI.

I haven't sat down and tried to figure out exactly how it breaks yet but it is highly annoying.

Theres alot reports about this going on, it appears to be occurring primarily from button mashing on complex macros (something multiboxers will do often) theres a couple of blizz forums about it at this point, first of which has a blue response
