Hardware review request : Logitec 600

My Review after owning one for nearly a year now.

Initial Impression having came from a 5-Button Mouse layout:
Cons: (bad first, best later)
Bulky
Hard to find out how I would be comfortable placing my hand
Disappointed that my average size man-hands couldn't find a comfortable way to reach the G9, g10, and g11 keys due to me not being a "palmer"
Heavy Cord - Gets caught on things like the edge of a desk sometimes, so if you're using a drawer instead of desktop invest in a short cable holder that you can put on the drawer.

Pros:
12 Buttons on the side of the mouse - This is cool
Buttons are angled in a way that naturally fit your thumb, and make it easier to tell where you are without remember "the dot means you're on this key"
Although smooth finished it stays in the hand REALLY well.
DPI Adjustable from 200 to 8200 INSANE - Instant head shots in FPS via dpi cycling hotkeys
Tilt Wheel - Never use it, but there are moments that I may find it necessary - Nice to have on a gaming mouse.
Handy for use in multimedia applications where I can apply profile keybinds to certain keys
DPI shifting makes it SUPER easy to use the mouse to draw shapes/lines in photoshop

Later impressions:

Cons:
Cord still gets caught sometimes, but hasn't ripped at all, or even tattered so I'm not concerned
At once I thought I had shorted my mouse out by rigging a USB PAssthrough E-Cig. I called customer support, and they had a new one (Even in black since I didn't WANT white, but it's all that they had at newegg when I ordered) within a week (GO LOGITECH!)
STILL Haven't found a way to reach all 12 thumb keys "naturally" but with a little straining of my thumb when necessary (not too often) i can hit them quickly, so that's okay.
Once you remove the feet to clean it be sure to have more on hand. the goop logitech uses doesn't bode well with multiple applications.
Wheel LOVES dead skin cells (but it's super easy to clean)
Still haven't found a way to disable a single profile out of the 3 onboard, but that's not a major deal

Pros:
Clicking switches haven't gone out in a year of competitive gaming
The original white mouse DIDN'T break completely, and a firmware update fixed it so now I have two.
Mouse glides smooth even without teflon feet on non-cloth surfaces.
Tracks amazingly on surfaces like low shag carpet, pants, desks, all different kinds of mousepads
Polling rate is adjustable (awesome)
A TOTAL COMBINATION OF OVER 120 keys if you use one button to switch profiles, and keybind all other g-Key/regular keypresses - Between 3 profiles (Absolutely INSANE!)
Still entirely too useful in multimedia applications (I use it as a keyboard in fruity loops, and it replaced ALL of my shortcut keys on my 12x9 Graphics Tablet
Still ticking without fault and I'm WELL over the keypresses that were tested
Clicking Sensitivity is MUCH lower than that of many mice on the market resulting in less "Punch time" and more action timing.
any key can be set to do any number of things
The hotkeys make games that have keybinds all over the place (latest thief) SUPER Easy

My reaction timing (recorded with 120FPS cameras) has been "calculated" to have become nearly 25% faster in the MMOs that I play (Vindictus, Dragon Nest, Minecraft, WoW, Rift, Modern Warfare 3, Blade and Soul, and many others.)


All in all, once you get used to the feel of the mouse, and find a comfortable way to hold it I thoroughly believe you will love it.
I have a LOT (probably in the range of 100) of friends that have had razer nagas, and the five thumb button mouse they made, as well as the corsair that has that other weird layout that looks natural, and they all loved the G600. 5 even turned around within a week to buy one.
Comments heard muttered from them in excitement were "WOW...this feels so much more natural" or Holy shit this thing is comfortable, I've never had my hand not hurt when gaming" etc.

All in all It's the best money I've spent on a component since my second monitor/graphics tablet.
I highly recommend the purchase, and I truly think you'll love it regardless of what you have/haven't tried.
There are some people (though I've yet to meet one) that say compared to the naga the G600 feels unnatural...I find this hard to believe due to the contour of the mouse vs a naga which I've held MANY a time.
