    Default Faster load/reload times

Last year when I cleaned up the amount of addons I was running I got much faster load times. This year I just did the same but either the addons I'm running all the time are much heavier weight or something else is going on.

Running from an SSD. Haven't cleared my cache in more than a month. Would clearing the cache help?

I guess it would depend on which add-ons you're using. Any add-on that likes to store a lot of data (e.g. auction add-ons (I'm looking at TSM like you mention in the other thread)) will eventually build a large database that takes a bit to load (especially if you're running it on each of your characters). I don't think WoW's cache folder actually caches add-on data since add-on data is stored in your WTF folder, but I could be wrong.

Ok. I'm not running tsm auctiondb on anything other than the main. Not having access to prices on the fly is just unbearable. the slave set of addons is just 25mb, (11 of which is arkinventory). I guess I should try some different things.

Test it - move, rather than delete, the cache directory, see if things improve.

Blue posters used to tell everyone to move their WTF, Cache, and Interface folders to reset everything. If they werent causing the problem you can just move them back to restore all your addons.

    Ok lets do some testing:

All same toon all dalaran: reload with

    No Addons: 2.21s
    Only ACP+ISboxer 2.57s
    Basic 6s
    Slave 7.19s
    AH/Crafting 7.61s
    Solo 7.93s
    Master 11s
    Raid 8.88s

It appears that the issue lies somewhere in the addons that I've declared "Basic". Will continue testing.

Basic: Arkinventory, arkinventory rules, bartender, clique, friendsnomore, grid, grid custom layouts, gridindicatorsideicons, griddungeonrole, isboxer, jamba, jamba talk, jamba taxi, jamba toon, Minimap button frame, mysales, omnicc, omniccconfig, quartz, reagent restocker, SUF, SUF options, swatter, TSM, tsm item tracker, tsm mailing.

Narrowing this down is going to take a while and losing any of these will be suboptimal.

    Holy cow.

Now I'm embarrassed with how few addons I use.

The addon speedy load didn't help at all neither did deleting my arkinventory settings with the idea that there might be some taint.

Lol well I admit I use a ton, which is why I use the different sets. I detailed all of the addons I was using a year ago in a post on my DB.com blog.

Ok well the results are in. Apparently arkinventory is the behemoth, accounting for an almost two second difference in load times by itself. Ugh. I've spent years tweaking my arkinventory settings.
