Default How do you use your team to make gold in an original way?

How do you exploit the fact that you have multiple accounts to make as much gold as you can. Do you do anything out of the ordinary?

I don't have an active account at the moment. But back in the day of Cata I used to love using 4 characters to do fast cross faction transfers and sell on AH.

Assuming you are starting on Alliance. You could buy in Stormwind AH, deposit in guild or mail (if you don't mind waiting), collect, sell in booty bay... quickly buy on your other account on the other side in booty bay. Transfer to your other charcter, and sell on the horde auction horse. You are obviously arbitrating for items that are extremely liquid and can sell quickly.

I would then buy a lot of cheap materials on the horde side, and transfer them all back the alliance side. On the alliance side, with my team, I would prospect everything, and sell gems that were for the dailies (Obviously this doesn't work any more), and anything not for the dailies I'd use to either cut or trash them. You can then craft with blacksmith, and disenchant. Essentially it was the gem shuffle, (whcih I've now been informed isn't possible anymore).

Soo.. yeah, to the original question, how do you use your team to make gold in an original way?

Wasn't intentional. You can see it wasn't a exploit thread from reading the post

I did dailies on three teams, the WotLK route...
Basically 21 dailies, which were not that horrendous boxed.
I think a tad over an hour per day, per team.

I used the gold to purchase herbs, from the AH.
There were three or four types of herbs, which were way too expensive.
So I parked alchemists in a few zones.
A druid off of Westfall, for Stranglekelp... because of aquatic form.
    Someone in Hinterlands.
There were four zones, but those are the two I needed the most herbs from.

The alchemists did a daily transmute.
In the WotLK era, it was normal gems into gems which Jewelcrafters could cut.

Eventually the gold from buying Rare Gems, doing a transmute, cutting the Epic Gem, and selling...
It got to the point where the Alchemists were generating gold in decent quantities.
I reduced the dailies to two teams.
    Then to one team.
And eventually dropped them, as they were rather tedious at that point.

I topped out at 37 alchemists, each doing a daily transmute.

In the Cataclysm era, the transmute was initially TrueGold and later Volatile Life into Volatile Air.
Doing the random transmute, but in one zone always got Air (there was a zone for Air, Fire, Water and Earth; anywhere else was random).
Had a team at the summoning stone for Pinnacle of Air (or something similar named) and a toon bound in Stormwind.
Buy Life from the AH, mail to the SW toon, summon via the dungeon stone, distribute Life, transmute to Air, hearth back, mail to AH mule, list Air on the AH.

I made 100K a week, for the first two months of Cata.
After that, prices dropped a bit and Air stockpiles grew, so I reduced the amount I was transmuting.
But had a lot of gold for the entire expansion; bought the Sandstone Drakes x5 (one per account) for the DK/Paladin team...

In Everquest, the process is different.

Transfers (/testcopy) from a main server to the Test Server is almost unlimited (once every 8 hours).

I don't remember (any) information for my bazaar mule account.
So my play accounts had basically 50,000 platinum between them.
I transferred 49.96K (and Ualaa's Manastone) to test (via /testcopy), traded those to account 2 and did another /testcopy, then traded to account 3 for a final /testcopy.
I repeated that twice a day for about a week.

On test, transferred to the permanent characters, who are leveling there.
So the /testcopy characters could freely be overwritten, and have their valuables returned...

Items that go for a massive amount on a live server, don't cost all that much on test.
For the most part, high end gear is from a live server and can be copied freely to test and repeatedly.
So people essentially give the gear away, for a few hundred to maybe 1k platinum for most things on the bazaar.
I've frequently seen people giving away tradeable max level epic quality items in tradechat.
And it's also very common for nodrop (Bind on Pickup) gear to be advertised in zone/general chat, for anyone who wants to come and loot it.

Platinum is almost unlimited, in that you can copy it freely.
And you can copy items that sell well, also freely.
My friend liked to do factions, so he's farming assorted Orc Belts on a live server (and getting Rebby Rat Whiskers, etc)... then /testcopy them to Test, so they can be reused every day, without needing to farm them for weeks and weeks.

It's not really an exploit, that's just how test works.

Eventually you reach a point where you can infinitely afford everything that you'd buy from an NPC.
Mercenaries cost so much platinum, per 15 minutes... which is fairly trivial, if you're doing things appropriate to your level... and especially trivial, with unlimited platinum (over time)...
After that, platinum has little meaning.

[WoW] Can you do cross-faction arbitrage on a single battle.net account, or do both WoW accounts have to be on separate battle.net accounts to trade on the neutral auction house?

I don't think they let you buy your own neutral auctions anymore these days, but I'm not sure.

Sorry, I'm an idiot and read your post as a single sub-account trying to buy its own auctions on the neutral auction house. Yes, you can definitely do this with multiple sub-accounts per BNet account.

You haven't been able to buy your own auctions from at least the WotLK era.
Possibly earlier, as I did use two toons at once to transfer items cheaply without logging out (actually had at least one toon, at each neutral AH auctioneer... so I could be sure no one was able to snipe my auctions).

Not sure how it is in the US, but how it works for me
    - A and B are on the same Bnet account, but are 2 different wow accounts
    - If a toon on A lists something on the AH, another toon on A can't buy that out
    - If a toon on A lists something on the AH, a toon on B is able to buy that out

I do that a lot: my AH toon sits on account B, lists all sorts of enchants and gems, and whenever I obtain a new piece of gear on account A, instead of relogging, I just buy the one that B listed.
Everything that is fun in life is either bad for your health, immoral or illegal!
