IMO fixing flying pvp ganks would be as simple as a debuff that you get when dismounting a flying mount that prevents you from initiating PVP combat for 30 seconds (or whatever time is fair)

My issue with not being able to fly is mostly about speed. Ground mounts max at 100% bonus, while flying can go 310%. If they could give us a 200% ground mount that would be a fair compromise.

No I agree with khat. A legendary quest line to get back an ability I have had for six years is NOT ok.

What if it wasn't a "legendary" quest line, just a regular quest line? And if it was free, instead of the typical 5,000g? And if you could actually make some gold from the quest rewards?

The problem isn't flying, its the exploitation that flying gives people. Powerplayers will just fly to the end and start farming. Non power players will do the same in an attempt to keep up with the Jones' and fail at it, creating a poor player experience. So they take away flying as their fix and force everyone through the chute of zones to delay them from leaving the game.

I don't mind losing flying with each expansion. I prefer a more steady story driven approach than race to max level and server firsts. But I too will be pissed if I have to go on some epic multi-stage solo, group, get in line with the rest of us for a raid boss to get it back but only after you farmed 100 widgets at a 1/10% drop rate on a full moon. Ill buy it again for 5k. Hell even 50k. Nothing else to spend the hundreds of thousands of gold on.

they said mini legendary quest line as long as there no single dungeons i don't care! or if there is a way to buy a book after or if there is BOA once you done it.

I thought northrend was the best balance, letting you start out mounted but the last two levels were flying and they designed a couple of the zones with that in mind. There is nothing epic about get an ability get it taken away, repeated three times!

I think they just like to do it this way so they can more easily identify the speed hackers. And if that's the case, it says a lot about the game at this point.
