Okay, so they are pulling a mirror mirror universe. Go back in time and monkey with things like Star Trek: First Contact. (earth now knows about the borg and convinces the Vulcans to build an empire instead of a federation). This creates an alternate reality that bothers us in the present. "mirror mirror" and the DS9 episodes.

Default How do you think garrisons will work for multiboxing?

From what I've read, it's going to be time consuming to use garrisons for all of your accounts... so it's most likely going to be the case that only a single account has a garrison.

    Thoughts?

I haven't read much on it garrisons, though things like this

Link - Though followers are great for solo play, the system also has multiplayer elements. When you dispatch a party of your followers on certain missions, you’ll also be able to join forces with your guildmates’ followers, even if your guildmate is offline.

    and

Link - Garrisons are unique per character, so there will be some kind of way to make it faster for alts.

    and

    Link -
    • Specializations allow you to customize a max level building. They can be changed once each day and may have a cost. You pick from one of three specializations.
    • Followers can be sent on Quests, Scenarios, Dungeons, or Raids. Raids may take party of a week and many followers.
    • You put the followers into a party and send them on missions. You get a bonus if you match traits on your followers to the missions.

make it sound like we'd have a distinct advantage over solo players. Garrisons in general sound vaguely like a more passive form of EQ2's guild houses {passive in that NPCs do all the "work" required to let you upgrade, vs EQ2's upgrade path that requires running writs and/or farming status items yourself to upgrade}, populated by adventuring NPCs instead of EQ2s harvesting NPCs. Though it also sounds like we'll stumble across various garrison-related drops out in the work on our own toons as well, since they mention finding blueprints and NPCs.

I think the key to it is "with as much or as little micromanagement as you wish." I'm sure we could spend all day on garrisons if we wanted to, just like in MoP you could spend all day doing nothing but dailies. {But not this time around! -
    Level 100 Content
There will be few or no daily quests at level 100!
} Or you could just do what you deem worthwhile. Maybe it'll be as simple as popping back "home" once every hour or so to resend Followers out on new missions.

I'll be interested to see how the details work out.

this kind of erks me! A legendary quest line to be able to fly again? F That!

the second thing is we really like when flying feels like a reward and something you've earned for each new expansion or area. It's such a powerful ability and we look back at BC (at least for epic riding) or Wrath and those were really big keystone achievements for us as players (mainly because they had some pretty huge gold costs on them...). Regardless of the unlock method though it was one of the bigger moments when you unlocked flying, took to the skies, and were able to see the world from an entirely different vantage because for most of us it wasn't easily attainable. Our plan has been to recapture some of that but make it a bit cooler, and while we don't have specifics just yet, it'll be something more involved than just paying gold; something that further emphasizes how powerful flight is. Unlocking it won't just be level 100 on the day 6.1 comes out with some gold, but something you'll be working toward over the course of the initial expansion release, and 6.1 will introduce the final steps to complete it. Think of something like a mini Legendary cloak quest. It's such a enormous power to be able to fly we really want it to be more of a key moment when you unlock it, and something that feels like an accomplishment more than just shelling out some gold like we've had in the past.

Anyway, I felt like those two things were worth spelling out.

I completely understand, and sympathize, with the flying mounts are bad for PvP thing..but I think they make PvE better! I am also ok with keeping the new content a no fly zone until you hit level cap. But waiting for the first content update ( 4 months? more? ) and then having to do a legendary/like quest line? I think ill wait for that patch before resubbing lol!

They can look back at BC and Wrath all they want, but they're making it pretty obvious that they're ignoring the fact that they were brand new skills in those days. It was fine to "work" for them when it's something you've never been able to have before. This is like asking be to level all over again to unlock my healing spells. As my husband LOVES to gripe - more gating so they can falsely inflate how long it takes to get through content. If that's going to be the case, I'll save my money.

They should have never brought it to the game! No more flying would be a welcomed change.

i was lucky and got epic flying in bc when i capped at level 70 or though it took me 7 months to get to 70 as i used to do a lot of hoobs powerleveling runs that made me some nice gold.

flying is not fun with wpvp they just fly away its not fun or when u get ganked from someone when leveling by someone that is flying without seeing it coming i think it make leveling the ten levels a bit more fun i can not wait! the quest sounds a good plan gold is to easy now a days it does not feel epic they might as well give it free if there staying down that road cata i did not even see half the zone as it was fly A>B>C.

nothing beats trying to do a lucky ride past the mods and hoping there not going to dismount you and if they do and u got so many on you wipe used to be very fun in bc days.

my question will you have to do this on every toon. Or will they say hey look that toon on the account got it share the achievement with all toons. Cause if each and every toon has to do the quests to unlock it man i am dreading the length this might take lol.
They say spiders have 8 legs well i guess im a rare and unimaginable specimen. Ive got 9 legs and my web comes from that 9th leg. HaHa.
