I looked at 30" monitors and they do not offer enough screen real estate increase to justify the price tag.

That leaves... A TV setup? Is it primarily the MS delay that keeps people from playing on them?

I have a 50" flatscreen that I can HDMI into but it'd be a pita to move it for a test. I'm looking for any input on this topic. Thanks in advance!
I don't get it.. screen real estate as in amount of information that can fit on it, or actual size? You can buy a projector and get a 200" screen but if it's still in 1080p you don't get any extra room on the screen. If you just can't fit it all on the screen and vision isn't an issue I think they hey 27's that can do the 2500x1600 or whatever that 30's did years ago.

I think very large TV's, 50-70" + in ultra HD are going to cost a fortune if you need both high resolution and size.

Exactly this. There is no difference in 'screen real estate' if your TV or monitor are the same resolution, it's just going to be bigger and more stretched out.

2560x1440 seems to be the sweet spot these days and has the same aspect ratio as 1080.
