    Default Multiplicity vs. Synergy

I enjoy using Synergy, but it's causing me some pain since I am unable to effectively mouse-look on a slaved computer. The camera angle does things that I never have the mouse do and it usually just ends up looking directly up or down.
Multiplicity claims to be effective for MMO gamers; has anyone here tried it?

Also, I'm currently using HotKeyNet to do just about all of my character control. Does something like Keyclone support what I want? I don't believe HKN will broadcast anything more than mouse clicks.

Of course, it's likely that I'm missing some other software packages that might be even better for me.

    Ideas, anyone?

I used Multiplicity for a few months but switched to KaVoom KM. I had a problem with Multiplicity placing the mouse cursor at screen's edge even though I used a hotkey to switch monitors. KaVoom does a better job for me of leaving the mouse cursor where it was when I made the switch. That is a very minor complaint and I didn't do much research to solve the problem. Both programs work quite well with mouse look and Hotkeynet. I currently use Hotkeynet to control my main on one monitor and two alts on a second. I use KaVoom KM to toggle back and forth.
I've got something to show ya!

I've been happily using Multiplicity for years now. the only issue I have is my Push to talk hotkey for ventrilo dies if I bounce between computers using ventrilo and Multiplicity, this wasn't an issue on Synergy, however I also wasn't able to mouse look at all.

    I used multiplicity until recently.

BUG: (feature? lol) With multiplicity, when you mouse over to an alt machine, your keys stop replicating to the alternate machine that has focus.

I've since moved on to Octopus. Same basic feature set as multiplicity but lots more multiboxing-specific features added. And doesn't have the synergy mouse pan lunacy bug.

Those all sound like good options, but I'm specifically concerned about the mouselook feature. Any comments regarding that?

I use kavoom (and have done for ages) I love it, light weight, totally robust, excellent support.

Can you tell me what you mean by 'mouse look' I use it to play a character and use the mouse to turn/look etc.....if you give me a specific test I will execute for you.

By the way, I also use Hotkeynet (and also love that) and they co-exist beautifully

Actually, that's exactly what I meant by mouselook. Synergy just doesn't cut it for transmitting more complex mouse events. It's funny - the mouse by itself works quite well, but with a button down it goes nuts.

Steps to reproduce the synergy mouselook bug:

    1) Load wow on alt machine
    2) Mouse over to alt machine
    3) Hold down left or right mouse button and pan view around
    4) Observe error: view spins out of control making mouselook useless.

Welll I do that all the time, and I have never noticed the alt behave any different than if I had mouse and keyboard attached to the alt machine.

Imagine....the bombing and egg daily quests.....be kinda hard without it working well....for quite some time one of my alts was the only one with an epic mount, so I used that char for these dailies

Oh....in case it matters....it works on vista/xp mixed.....it also has allows copy/paste (using CTRL C/CTRL V) of both text and also files....I find this more useful than I thought in the multiboxing scenario.
