Default [EQ2] Purchase High Level Characters!

It was only a matter of time.

For 3500 Station Cash (about $35), you can buy a new heroic character of upgrade existing characters to heroic status. Heroic characters automatically start at level 85 and include gear, food, drink, and ammo--making it easy for new and returning players to jump directly into high-level content.

Thats nothing compared to when SOE had Livegamer. You could buy a completely maxed AA and fully raid geared character at max level. It was like an auction house for real money, where you sell or buy characters, plat, and items. I made tons of money selling characters on Livegamer.

It will only be an expansion away before WoW has something similar. Even now with RAF and level granting it takes too long get a new player up to speed to start doing Raid Finder and current content. (normal people, not us who can do it in a weekend) I predict that Recruit a Friend will provide instant level 80-85's for both parties and just provide double or triple xp for any paying customer who start a new character from level 1.

That or add a triple xp heirloom for max valor points.

Didn't they add a scenario where you can practice a particular role (tank/dps/heal) with NPCs so you can learn them without requiring a group of real players? I can see where Blizzard would offer to provide high-level and moderately-geared characters of any class for a fee, knowing that even if the class was new to a player, he could just run the practice scenarios until he had learned the basics of the class and roles.

I know there will be some blowback from some of the EQ2 players, But I love this. I've been playing the game off and on for years, with my highest toon a 51/102 SK.

This is a huge boon to me, as I'll be able to really set up a good team now.
