    Default Balanced Group of 3?

    I currently run 3 mages and have had fun doing that for a while however I am looking to create a balanced alternative for running scenarios and such. What would be a good makeup of tank/heal/dps?

    So far I was thinking:

    Tank = Pally
    Heals = shaman or druid
    DPS = shaman or druid or hunter or warlock

    I would love to hear others thoughts.

    Scenarios are designed for non-standard groups. Dedicated healing is a waste. Dedicated tanking is pretty wasted, too, but having a toon or a pet that can stand some damage is helpful. But if you can get a little of one or the other in addition to more DPS, you should be fine.

    This makes pet classes ideal for scenarios. Plate DPS, passive healing/damage negation and avoidance-heavy classes great for scenarios as well. But really, anything will work, scenarios aren't difficult at all. A well-geared BM hunter could probably solo them at this point.

    I figured that dedicated healing would be a waste and I should have said Heroic Scenerios, old raids, old instances. I have little experience with other classes so I was looking for some suggestions.

    Which healer would provide the best passive or mobile healing and is easy to box?

    as said before: a dedicated healer or tank would be a waste of DPS therefore I'd try either
    - a mixed group of shadowpriest / ele shaman + 2x warlocks (pets are strong if skilled and they can soulstone / battle-rez the healer in case of emergency)
    - a group of 3 ret-paladins which you can spec one to tank if tons of damage incoming and use your holy power to heal

    I currently prefer the range-dps combo because I do a lot of questing and don't want to melee the mobs when I can one-shot them from the distance.
    Additionally the interact-with-target is sometimes a pain in the ass when your toons starts running around instead of attacking the mob

    I would prefer a ranged over melee dps as well but I would still like to retain the ability to have a tank that can take damage when necessary. So ideally a tank that could spec to take damage or deal damage when it didn't need to take any damage.

    when playing 3 chars i feel that playing 3 the same makes a lot easier using cool-downs etc and gearing then.

    3 warlocks or hunters work well but the lack of heals can be a pain as half the time the "clones" can not click the heal pots on the floor.

    am playing 3 shammys atm theres not a lot i can not do with them a 5m pet that works a good tank on most old raids. you got a choice off melee dps that is very strong in pvp and some pve and then you got caster as well that is a really good spec as well and they got good off healing its nice strong healing and strong dps as both specs.

    3 druids might be a fun choice as well as they got even more specs Modes. I would go for classes that can heal as the clones can be a bit Dum,

    you did not say you was into pvp.

    i find melee does not work very well boxing in LFR i always make a mass of things, and some of the new stuff on the island, and that's why i dropped my pally/dk's and i was finding it hard having one of my chars doing nothing as a healer half the time ya i could spec that rat but i choice to go to the sham and have access to ele spec.

    or though i do not like really like Scenarios when i do them now and again i find casters work a little better on some of the bosses.
