I think it was about 2 months ago that I tried to summon a lowbie alt to the black temple summoning stone, and it said it was too low level. I forgot the actual level the alt had back then (in 20 or 30 range), so I actually had to get my warlock there to summon him.

There is a MINIMUM level restriction on the summoning stone, which makes sense. If your lowbie is too low level it wouldn't be able to enter the instance anyway. There used to be a MAXIMUM level restriction but that got removed, but it's pointless because your main is usually a lot more mobile to begin with. Right now the way to get everyone to instance entrance is using 2 seater flying mount with main + 1 lowbie, then use summoning stone to summon the other lowbies.

I just tried this as well: a geared level 90 grouping with level 67, running UK 5 times, got him to level 70. I just went through spamming aoes. The first run through, make sure he picks up the quests and loot the bosses for quest items. I don't loot anything else, they just slow me down. Got 5 instance completed within 45 mins, then ran into instance requirement. I think 2.5 levels for 45 mins is not a bad deal. At level 70, Azjol Nerub opened, which I haven't decided if it'd be faster than UK or not, especially since old kingdom is there as the next step.

Assuming your characters are level 15 or above, just use the summoning stone outside of the instance.
