    Smile Wh's Testing

So i have thoughts about moveing two characters into a wormhole as a little team.

It'll be a Anathema and a Legion (Legion is NOT pimped out) in a C2, later when im ready for it C3

Any tips for me to bring along this little period before i move onward to other escapades?

the problem with WHs is the lack of bounties, you have loot (books and some parts) and salvage. so you will need someone dedicated to salvaging. its not hard at all to find someone to do it while you pew pew, but that cuts your profits and makes c1 and c2 even less desirable.

WHs are grouped as C1-C2/C3-C4/C5-C6, so that's three tiers, with 2 variants each. each tier has its own variant of sleepers, each variant has its own type of sites. tier one sleepers are crap, tier two sleepers can be deadly if not countered properly, and tier 3 are completely retarded, capable of killing capitals in seconds if not managed correctly. each of the two variants simply add more sleepers per wave, and have more sites per system.

that said C1 and C2 are garbage. the reason is simple, sleepers drop crap. the books are cheap or are simply not there, so there's only salvage, which is usually crap. the sites can, and should, be done on thrashers or t2 frigs. good place to start and get used to wh life i guess, but they suck for anything else. also, they are infested with gankers. good thing is, they are mostly solo gankers.

if you never done WHs before you can do them using a 4 man thrasher alpha fleet. mind your tracking, distance, and stay aligned.

C3 are your best bet, but with a two man team and only one legion in site, it will find itself overwhelmed many times. (sleepers have 90% webs and -200 cap neuts, and scram) not to mention the damn sleeper frigates flying at 2.5kms on a low orbit, good luck hitting that with lazors. the sites can be soloed but you will need to pull a lot of crap to position yourself correctly and you will have to warp out a few times. not to mention, if a recon decloaks you are dead. and yes C3s are full of ganking fleets, usually one force recon and 2-3 t3 ships. and no, Dscan wont save you. with good skills a prober can find your site while keeping probes out off your dscan range.

bottom line, using one T3 to do C3 sites will be pretty much the same as blitzing lvl4s in hsec, with a millon times more risk.

if you only have 2 ships available, use 2x vagabonds, or 2x navy augurors. if you have good probing skills you dont really need the bonus from the specialized ships.

if you have a 6x+ ship team, you can destroy C3s and C4s. you will need at least 2 capchain logis in addition to the dps... and a dedicated salvager. but at 100m per C4 site you can spare some coin for the salvager.

vagabonds are awesome, after the 1.1 odyssey patch they will be even better. and navy augurors are just stupid with over 120k ehp... if you have atleast 6 dps chars you can downsize to Mallers that will cost you only 35m each. (but the mids on laser ships will be full of tracking computers.)

WH logistics are simple, med tower on a C1 to refit and reship if you want that to be your stable base, and then drop a small tower in whichever system you are running sites in, use it as a safe and as a drop off for loot and remove it at the end of the day. use one alt in a viator or other transport to hold your shinnies, and safe log off it at the end of the day on a safe.

on my personal opinion, after living on a C4 for over a month... WHs suck. what makes them unbearable is the salvaging and looting. you will need to add people to salvage and loot so your schedule will depend on whether you have people online to salvage. lowsec exploration can yield the same ISK/h with lower risk, and only looting one ship per site, with a chance of getting a 2 bill jackpot once in a while. but the ganking life inside WHs is great! if your thing is living on the edge, WHs are the thing to do.

Are you salvaging in your C3/C4 with a Salvage 5 toon (then again a Salvage 4 toon with 2 or 3 rigs also does the same job)?

There are also fits for T3s that are RR based that can duo C4s, most C3s are solo-able (with the right amount of skillpoints, fits, and engagement warp in). You can use a Zephyr shuttle to get a good warp in on any wormhole anom as sleepers will not attack it, this is something we primarily used in large C4-C6 sites.

I generally tend to run 3 RR Tengu's in a C4 and 2 RR Tengus in a C3 for ease. But i also have many other toons on standby for unexpected issues ( ie: scouts/salvagers/ECM/Haulers.) This is also not to mention the money you can make off selling the reverse engineering materials (sleep hulls and subsystems) to the people who produce T3s as they pay a lot for that stuff.

Most of the sleeper loot prices vary widely, the target item is melted nano-ribbons which boils down to the anoms that are spawned and if your salvaging with the right skilled toon. Most C3s yield 80 to 150 mil a site, some which you can do with 2 or 3 people in matter of 10 to 15 minutes.

Its interesting to see your experience with WHs as it differs widely from my experience in a wormhole, but it only goes to show the differences in the game which is not necessarily a bad thing. There are some other downsides to wormholes as well, which is generally when/if your wormhole dries up. Since the anom spawning is based on your wormhole's overall constellation activity. There are times when many WHs dry up for days on end.

The best Wormholes to live in are usually ones that have another static WH for example: C2-C4 is where i was living up to a few weeks ago. We had a new C4 ever day and could roll the hole into a new one at anytime. My target goal for Whs would be to find a C4-C3 setup, that way i have a new C3 all the time, and do not need to have others on for C4s all the time.
