Ah, that's great to know, Smedbox. My guys are getting pretty close to the level 50 mark and I've been told that doing the SL quests as normal (as opposed to doing Instant Adventures for the last ten levels) is the way to go because you get a much better set of starting armor for 60 and gain important reputation with valuable factions. I wasn't looking forward to going back to regular questing compared to the ease of IAs - this makes me feel better about it.

The guild I have found myself in is called Philanthropy. It is a very large guild but has been extremely helpful. No one else boxes so the concept is pretty foreign to them (or was before me). I get in their Mumble most of the time I'm playing and I am shocked and amazed that at least half the people talking are female. Never seen such a large population of the fairer sex in a guild. Maybe that's why they are always volunteering to help each other out.

This weekend a handful of level 60s took some time to run lowbies through some Storm Legion hunt rifts because the exp and rewards are great. They asked if my 10 wanted to join and though my guys were dead and being rezzed and summoned 90% of the time they were very patient. A few nonguildies messaged the leader and gave her a lot of crap about a lowbie boxer being involved, but she defended me throughout. I hope to get to 60 so I can be the person helping others out soon. Anyway, my main is Pantero, so just feel free to join Philanthropy or shoot me a message in game.

McWrathy, Nice to see you again. I joined this guild last night... well, I submitted to join it. Its a higher level guild, so its got the guild perks I wanted. The people seem nice from what Five stated. Im currently operating a dps cleric, dps mage, and a dps huntsman in a single group. Tonight I plan to get a tank and a healer setup. The goal of boxing 5 should do it for me for now.

I also have a level 20 something melee cleric that I used to "figure shit out".

Come join us... having three boxers in one guild amongst many should be quite a lot of fun.

Agreed! Will be fun to try to figure things out together. I got one of my teams to 50 tonight, with the other group sitting at 46.

Oh, and this probably goes without saying, but we should try to be as friendly and gracious to this helpful guild as we can. As you know, there tends to be a natural undercurrent of jealousy from single boxers when they see the power and flexibility we boxers have. There hasn't been any of it so far in the guild, but it's human nature, so I'm doing my best to discourage it by being a nice guy.

You join other people doing the quest as well, then have a ton of people all working on the same goal. When it is done, you automatically get quest reward experience and get a new quest. The army of folks mounts up, runs a short distance, then starts on the next quest. No obtaining quests, no turning them in, no choosing quest rewards, all of that is automatic and you can continually focus on completing quest objectives. You automatically get class and level appropriate quest rewards in your bags.
Guild Wars 2 has a similar system for questing. No automatic teleport (you have to travel to the quest area) but as soon as you enter the quest area the quest objectives show up on screen and everyone's efforts go towards completing it. When it's complete you get rewards based on how much you participated and a currency that you can spend with the quest NPC. The have "events" that will occur based on certain triggers (some will repeat after a set amount of time, others are started by interacting with an NPC) that are similar, but some require at least a few players in order to complete. If you take part, or are within the area, you get some kind of reward.

I expect that Blizzard will add this to Titan, as it makes for a very nice leveling flow. Being able to participate and get credit without having to beg for a group, just jumping in and participating, is great. And on PVE servers I figure multiboxers will get less flak, since they'll be able to help complete objectives quicker and everyone benefits.

I *thought* that was you, and wasnt certain till I saw 10 characters log out at once. I am Appwillow. I am very new. I'll be learning to Box Rift at the same time I learn Rift.

Few things that are confusing the hell out of me. Talent trees and Souls. WTF?! I thought there were three talent trees. But then I clicked on something in that menu and a pop up came up sayin if I proceed I will reset all my characters Souls and it gave me a list of about 5 other types of cleric to choose from. My characters have no gathering or crafting skills, and I *think* I understand the whole "rift" thing. Basically, when I see one on the map, I run to it, click the button to finish opening a rift that is starting, (forget the name), and kill everything that comes out. When the Rift closes.. I get some "currency"? I guess is what it is.. hell I dunno yet.

Anyway, thats it. Thats as much about the game as I understand it.

That's awesome. Sounds like my initial experience. You are well on your way. As for the talent trees, they look to provide a ton of customization options, but when you create a character you have to select a basic spec theme. This theme has a whole design for how you will spend all your points as you level up and is the beginner's way to get a basic tree set up that is pretty good. That way you can just tell it to Spend All Points and it will fill in whatever points you have available towards that design. If you spend points in any other way, it figures you are an advanced user and won't use the design theme for you anymore (the training wheels will be off and you'll have to spend each point individually). I've kept the training wheels on for all my characters so far and look forward to messing with the myriad of options when I cap out and want to optimize.
