Default All of the same problems exist in Keyclone 1.8f

I can safely report that all of the same problems I've seen in 1.8e still exist in 1.8f. These problems are:

    1. Keys listed in do-not-pass, sometimes pass to the other copies of Keyclone on other computers connected. This leads to the infamous run-away characters or spinning characters because the movement keys are usually not passed to the clones. But worse than that, it doesn't just pass it once, it keeps causing the other clones to continue to move until the same key is pressed on that clone.

    2. Unable to select an item from inventory with a single click - also causes unable to cast buffs or heals to other players on your target. For some strange reason, this just happens. The only way to fix it is to either shut down and restart Keyclone, or press the 'override' button twice on the clone machines so that they can cast buffs and heals to other targets.

Neither of these problems exist if Keyclone is not being used.

true... and keys don't pass between machines, there is no round robin support, PiP swap, mouse mapping, or keymaps.

    definitely a perplexing statement.

as for your do-not-pass issues... yes, W and shift+W, ctrl+W, alt+W are entirely different keys. press shift+W.. it'll pass thru... let up on the shift, and W will not be passed... therefore, no shift+W keyup event was received by the other side.

as for your click issues... works fine for me.

this weekend i've 5-boxed on 2 machines i haven't played on before. one clicked along perfectly with 3G of memory, 2.2GHz Intel and a 7600GT. the other limped along with only 1G of memory and a 7800GS. all worked as expected on the 3G box, while the other limped.

question is, what is your hardware setup? are you pushing it beyond what i can do?

I will post it again for you. There is another message posted here with my configuration and I'll explain it all so you don't give an incorrect response this time.

    1. I don't have W, Shift W or any alphabetic keys in WoW mapped to any movement. I only use the arrow keys and they are the only keys in the game that are mapped to movement. I'm referring to the 'Key Bindings' option in the game. In Keyclone, I have the following set to 'do-not-pass' in my main: TAB, LEFT, UP, RIGHT, DOWN, NUMLOCK, TILDE. All of the clones have 'do-not-pass' set to white list with nothing in the list. I don't want them to send anything to any other machines.

    2. I have 7 different computers all running a copy of Keyclone. All of the computers are on Windows Vista Home Premium edition. I have 3 Fujitsu laptops with 2gb of ram and 2.0ghz Core Duo CPU. Other than the game of Wow and Keyclone, only Norton Protection Center is running. I've confirmed that Norton Protection Center allows UDP and TCP in all directions for Keyclone, it did it on its own, but I checked it in its configuration. I have 2 HP Laptops with 3gb of ram each. The same for the other laptops, they all run only WoW, Keyclone and Norton Protection Center. I have 2 HP Desktop computers. One of them is 3gb of ram and is a Core Quad machine with 2.4ghz. The other is 4gb of ram and is a Core Quad machine with 2.66ghz and is 64bit.

    3. I don't use round robin, PiP swap, mouse mapping, or keymaps. The only options in Keyclone that I am using are the ability to connect to another machine which all of them are and the do-not-pass list which is set to white list on all of the clones and the list given above for the main. All of the other options in Keyclone are set to default. I didn't enter anything in the 'command editor', nothing in 'keymap editor', nothing in 'language', nothing in 'maximizer', nothing in 'mouse-map', nothing in 'override settings', nothing in 'proxy settings', nothing in 'round-robin', nothing in 'sound events'. I am not using duplicate copies of Keyclone on any of the machines. All are only running one copy of Keyclone. I have 'auto-connect' set in each of my clones to connect to my main computer. I launch Keyclone individually and have the icon such that it will launch with Administrator rights so it asks me on each computer to allow it to run and I select yes. I'm using the default port of 1320 and that's fine as I've checked with 'netstat -an | more' prior to starting Keyclone that this port is not in use by any other applications.

Is there any other information you need to resolve this issue?

It appears that each time there is a problem seen, the general response is: Are you running out of memory? Or is your graphics the problem? For me, I don't think I'm running out of memory as Windows Task Manager shows Physical memory usage on the Fujitsu 2gb laptops as 59%. As far as I can tell, I'm not pushing anything in my configuration. I've got plenty of CPU, plenty of memory on all of my machines. I only have one copy of WoW running on each machine.

After thinking about it, I think I know what the problem is. I can actually duplicate this behavior by holding down the ALT key in WoW. The macro that I use for healing and buffs has at the start a modifier that if ALT is pressed, the caster receives the heal or buff. So what is happening is that something is causing all of the clones to think that the ALT key is being pressed when it's not. The clones think that ALT is held down until either Keyclone is shutdown or 'override' is toggled. Could there be some such problem in Keyclone when you're using multiple computers all running one copy?

hmm.. sounds odd. it can depend on the number of computers and the number of system-ids. please drop me a PM with your email address, keyclone system-ids and the number of machines, and i'll check to see if there is an issue. (never know.. could be related to authorization)

When I get "runners" it is almost always after an ALT-{key} is pressed and usually while I am in motion.

My macro for dismount and trinket swap is mapped to ALT-PageDown for all accounts. When coming in for a landing on my bird or riding in on 3 mounts I'm usually holding down the W key so that when I let up I'll stop (after cruising on auto-run for a bit). At the same time I press ALT-PAGEDOWN to fire my dismount macro (which dismounts and change trinkets) but then my 2 clones following me sometimes go running off on their own even after releasing all keys. I can turn them using the mouse to run them back to my main but just doing a back movement key does not stop them, lol. I don't recall ever having runners if I ALT-{key}'d anything while standing still except for tonight when I stupidly forgot my dnp button down was pressing W then pressed and alt-key and had 1 runner, lol. Until these kinks are worked out I'm looking at it as mini-games that only keyclone multiboxers can participate in!

My suggestion would be to try inverting your logic on the main computer...

Instead of blacklisting the arrow keys (which still lets shift-arrows go) whitelist the keys you WANT to go.

I've been using KeyClone for 70 levels on Team Doublemint and not once have I ran across the runaway bug described here, I've also leveled my shaman team to the low 20's and my locks to 10... hours and hours of farming gold...

I've used Whitelisting since the day I installed KeyClone.
