I see people afk all the time in Sinking Sands along the orc highway near the camps. A lot of orcs spawn and wander down the old riverbed. I would be hesitant to do this, but it does seem a bit odd that EQ2 doesn't have an AFK timer and log you out.

Dungeon finder is a bit wonky. I have queued up as a group and at times, not had all of my group get to go. There were other people in the group instead of just me.

For fast leveling Dungeon Maker is where it's at. I made my own dungeon and tested all sorts of things out. Level of mob had no impact on exp, just tier and rarity. Buffs and debuffs had no impact on exp, just number of tokens at the end. A group of three with a sk merc for a 4 man team increased the tier by one level and boost the xp by 40% vs normal gains. Any more than 4 and the mobs become raid tier and will start one shotting you. Anyway I leveled a ton over the last double xp weekend. Each mob was giving just over 600xp (rested, potion, xp weekend) and I made them all in groups of 4 so each pull was 2400 xp. Dungeon Maker will cap the xp reward at 1.99 levels. So you can gain at most one level and be one kill away from a second so you have to keep an eye on how many to kill before exiting.

It won't cap the exp for AA though I ran my dungeon all the way to the end with 100% aa and earned around 280k. Some toons earned 10 aa. Lower levels earned as many as 30. A full clear took about 20-22 minutes to clear. My 1 hour xp potions wouldn't quite make it to the end of the third run.
