Default (EQ2) Some advice needed for boxing w/ISBoxer

    Hey all,

I did a bit of ISBoxer boxing w/EQ1 earlier this year, and it was pretty straight-forward. However, EQ2's mechanics are quite different, and I am struggling a bit. I was hoping some of you could offer some tips and advice

First, how do you handle the cast orders? With EQ1, I could just spam the keys for my spells by priority, and the first one not on cooldown would go off. With EQ2, and it's queuing system, I find I'm often not casting the spells I think I am. How do you guys handle this?

Second, how do you handle HOs (or do you even try using them)? I've tried to co-ordinate them a few times, but mostly it seems the HO just stays at the starting phase, and rarely progresses.

Finally, how do you handle quest getting and turn-in? EQ1 was easy, target NPC, call assist, broadcast Hail, then broadcast click the accept quest/reward. For EQ2, the chat bubbles are in different spots on the screen for each char, so broadcast clicks don't really work.

    Thanks,

    Tat

EQ2's macro / priority system is from top to bottom, with the exception that the very last spell/ability in the macro will be queued up second - but even sometimes I'm not sure..

Typically how I do this then is put my most powerful spell first, then second most powerful second, etc. But I also put the first spell at the bottom as well. Easy problem solved :P

I don't use HO's at all, I should probably try to add it in, just for the fun of it but I don't think the benefits it gives these days are worth it.

Quest turn in's are a chore, which is why I enjoy dungeon grinding.
Basically do all the talking on main, accept quest. Share quest, broadcast to accept. Turning in is a bit of a pain but typically quest turn in's are at max 2 chat bubble clicks. The rest is a follow up to accept the next quest which you don't have to do since the main will share that one.

And the most brilliant answers are always the simplest. It never occurred to me to put the top priority spell at the bottom again. Thanks

HOs certainly seem to be worth it solo, at least as far as my highest char has gotten (63). I assumed they would also be worth it for the group. I guess I'll find out once I get it working.

    Thanks for the help!

I slapped on HO on one of my characters since it's instant cast with instant reuse so it can do nothing but help. It seems like it matches up and goes off about 50% of the time and complete. Not sure what the buff I'm getting is, but hey.. it's a buff!

Where in your macros did you place the HO? i have not started making macros for my toons yet, but i will tonight as their level 13 and i have so many abilities im going bonkers trying to figure them all out. im rather enjoying EQ2 a lot, brings me back to good ol' days. I got a few friends into it last night who also used to play EQ back in the day.

I also wanted to add that if you play melee heavy.. your dps is going to be subpar. Auto attacks are very important. My current team is all melee and its been very difficult to time auto attacks and maximize dps. Next team will be caster heavy 8)

I'm up to almost 1.4 million group DPS, and I still need to gear up more but my kill speed is definitely better. I enjoy that every day I just keep tuning and tuning and it gets smoother.

I'm ready for your How-2 multibox-EQ2 like a Pro video!

Only one of my tunes is 95 ( my dirge..gets groups easy ) My SK is 94 and my warden 93..but I have been doing the CoE sig line.. the advanced solo instances are fun.. and a chance for geat loot at the end. im too wimpy to do the group versions yet..might not be able to do those until i have a team of 6 geared toons. But i have run them with my dirge..3 real people and 2 mercs.. so it might be doable with 3 geared toons and 3 mercs.

I think it's doable with 3 mercs it's totally fun and the adv solo's are nice because you can run it with 2 of your characters instead of a merc. Doing it with my SK/Warden I can do the hard mode bosses at the end, gives triple the loot instead of single.

LOL, you guys are awesome. I just parsed my Inquisitor's log from last night (he's my only "high" level char, 63! Others are all 20-ish right now). He's doing a whopping 1000 DPS!! 1.4 million is just outside the realm of comprehension for me

I have a question, tho, brought on by Lyonheart above. I've read on other forums about the importance of auto-attacks at the higher levels, and the need to use the auto-attack timing bar. But my question is this... what happens if a spell interferes? Does the auto-attack get delayed, or do you "lose" it?
