Red face New member seeking advice please.

Hello All, I am brand spanking new to multi-boxing WoW. I have been lurking in the forums for a few days trying to understand the awesome guides here, and reading post after post. I plan at first to dual box two or three of the same class to start off with. I tend to over analyze, over think things and read more about what I wish to learn about instead of getting out there and playing. I have played exclusively a holy/shadow priest for the last 6 years.

My thinking is by playing two of the same classes at first will allow me to ease into multi-boxing and to learn the basics. My goals are to be able to be a stronger soloer and to run what I can of pre MOP content for pets, mounts and achievements alone and off and on with a friend that plays a Warlock. I would also like to que for LFR and LFD as well. My long term goal will be to run currant 5 man group content and possibly LFR if I ever feel comfortable trying it. And do decide to go with a 5 man group. I am only interested in PVE. The softwear I will be useing is ISBoxer along with Jamba and a couple of other addons. I am only interested in playing one team which could end up being the dual or tri-box group I start out with and never get to a 5 man group. I have no desire whatsoever to level or play a bunch of other toons other then one group so I am trying to carefully pick. I rather learn to play the group I end up with the best I can. Yes, I'm a prefectioest!

My question what Class would you all as experienced multi-boxers suggest? I am thinking about Leveling 2 of the same classes together one for a future tank and one for a future healer. So I am deciding between two Pallys, two Druids or two Monks. Then after I get the hang of that I would level 3 dps of the same class as well. I am leaning towards 3 Mages, 3 Hunters or 3 Druids. I do want to level the easiest group first either the 3 same class dps or the 2 same class tank/healer. To tell you the truth I may decide after leveling the first group that I may feel content with just that group if I can reach my first set of goals with them. So please keep that in mind with your suggestions. Most important to me is to have fun with the group I end up with no matter if it is a two, three or 5 man team. I see that a lot of you are able to master playing teams of different classes, but it's something that I don't feel like I would be able to do, and I don't even want to try. I have some health issues (auto-immune diease) that would also make it difficult that also adds to me only wanting to play/learn one group.

I can't thank you enough for your knowlege, time and valuable input. I very much need your all's help.

I would probably suggest the druids for you first. It gives you several options for spec, so you can use the same druids for tanking, healing, and 2 forms of DPS. You also get the option of stealth, which if you're farming certain bosses for pet or mount drops means you can stealth past trash. You also get flight form, which gives you a quicker means of travel {in that flight form is instant vs the casttime on mounts} and you get travel for for quick in-combat getaways and swim form. Druids also have decent CC with roots and cyclone.

I wouldn't worry too much about different classes. It's really not that much more work to set up a multi-class/multi-spec team vs all the same. Once you get comfortable with the druids, you can just start with them by swapping their roles around and having one tank and one DPS or running one boomkin and one cat or whatever combination you like. Pretty much once the macros are set up, it's the same faceroll if it's all Elemental Shamans or a hodge-podge of classes specs.

Thank you very much khatovar for taking the time to advice me! I do like the Druid idea because it covers all play styles. I didn't even think about the advantage of being able to stealth. That would be a big plus for what I am looking for. I am excited to have found such an active community. Edit: would you suggest 2 or 3 Druids to start with please? If there is an advantage I would do the 3. Thank you!

Honestly, 2's not much different than 3 and would give you the opportunity to "solo" the scenarios in MoP once you get comfortable with them. And if your friend is online, you're just 1 person away from being able to do regular dungeons.

If you're thinking you might go to 5 at some point anyway, I think you might get a better feel for what a full group plays like with 3, since you'll be able to experiment with doing all 3 roles at once. And if you do decide to try LFR, it's a bit less conspicuous to run 3 than 5.

If you've got the money and the time to be able to do that, then I don't see much drawback. I moved very, very quickly from 2 to 3 when I first started multiboxing.

Thank you once again for your advice and time. Then that's the way I will go. I do remember seeing somewhere on this forum that it isn't always a good idea to name your toons with similar names. Which was my plan until now because some people don't like multi boxers and will fuss at them. Thank you for all the guides as well.

It is particularly important that one name is not a substring of another as WoW's /follow command does not do exact name matching.

Thank you Alge! I am thankful to learn this before I made a mistake then had a lot of time invested in it. 3 accounts is enough without having to add name changes to it.

Does anyone have advice as to what the best talent tree to take while leveling my 3 Druids? I do plan to run LRG a lot with questing if I can get a good set up and do fairly well at playing it. Thank you in advice for your time. Remember I am a total noob at multi-boxing and will be useing the guides on here at dual-boxing.com to get started.

Also would it be an advantage to leveling and my learning curve to use my level 90 priest to help them by running 2 Druids with my priest, or would running 3 Druids be better as well as more fun?

You can run 3x Boomkin and play like almost any ranged composition.
Basically use follow, line your guys up near maximum range.
    And start your nukes.

If you're questing, 90% of the time 2x Wrath volleys or 1x Starfire volley will kill things outright.
That is from a 5x Druid perspective, so 3x might need an extra volley or so.

The other approach is going Feral.

In cat form, you'd want a simple castsequence for (reset=target) Mangle, Rake, Mangle, Mangle, Rip.
You'll basically kill almost everything, before the sequence finishes.

Feral imo is a lot more fun, because it is different from being a caster.
And almost everything else is leveled as a caster type.

It does require one extra mechanic.
You need Click to Move enabled.
And you need to add in Interact With Target, to the keys that you spam.
    EverQuest I: Bard / Enchanter / Druid / Wizard / 2x Magician.
    Diablo III: 4x Crusader & 4x Wizard.
