Faction Warfare

Anyone messed with faction warfare? I haven't found a segment of pvp in EVE so far that I've really enjoyed, so I rolled up a new alt to give FW a try. I'll start solo and then bring in alts later as needed/wanted, but I was curious if anyone had advice for someone who could bring multiple toons to the party? If so, what ships to bring/expect? My initial plan is to go out with a Thrasher, and if I involved alts I was thinking ewar frigs or maybe a long range destroyer to mix with a short range one where I can never be outranged.

I would use multiple Arty/Gank Trashers and pop the things with one hit <3
Nice range, nice alpha, cheap ships/fitting - it's a dream.
