ISboxer - how to toggle assist from main from all keystrokes? but keeping some active
Hi everyone,
im working how to setup a toggle for assist, anyway i can do this?
for example:
i want to be able to select targets from main without toons assisting focus etc If im healing for example this would stop dps/tanking and cause a blip in between healing so more i heal the less dps/tanking and resultings in big problems.
i want to be able to toggle on/off assisting to other windows BUT i still may want some keystrokes to still pass through ofc.
understand?
any suggestions would be good, im playing from a healer as main rather than the tank so the style is different for me and im exploring this with the 90 team but it has its problems.

4 Solutions
1) If you are driving from the healer use mouseover healing and not target healing
2) remove assist from all of your dps keys (1-10 or whatehaveyou) and assist manually
3) keep assist in your normal combat keymap, but make a new one with the same keys without assist. Make a two step key that toggles keymap 1 on and keymap 2 off, and then keymap 2 on, keymap 1 off
4) build a passive healing rotation aimed at your tank (@focus) from the healer that handles most of the healing you need, and use mouseovers for the rest.
I'd suggest 1 or 4 as the best of those ideas.

There is no need to change target for healing. There are a few methods of doing that described on the forums, some include very helpful video guides.
Edit:
In addition to the message above me, another option is a repeater region with a healing adding like healbot.

I agree with luxdunae and Pazgaz.
Target is always the bad guy. Even when playing a healer solo, the target is the bad guy! So, imo, healing is what needs to be reworked. If the issue is what you've refered on your example, changng your healing macros to something like /cast [@mouseover] spell may be the best method. You can use it hovering the toons or the unit frames.
I also usually use /cast [@mouseover][@targettarget] spell

You can also simply run the addon "clique" and it will let you set up all of your mouseover heals with the click of a mouse button.
